The upcoming The Boys prequel, Vought Rising, will focus on the origins of Herogasm at some point in the show’s run.

Taking place at the very beginning of Vought’s development, Prime Video announced at San Diego Comic-Con that Soldier Boy’s Vought Rising will feature Jensen Ackles, Aya Cash (Stormfront), and it will undoubtedly include several other familiar faces. The prequel will join a growing list of Boys spinoffs, including Gen V, The Boys: Diabolical, and The Boys: Mexico, and it will primarily focus on Soldier Boy and the early days of Compound V.

While Herogasm will not be the primary issue in the show, it will still explore the massive event. In an interview with TVLine, executive producer and The Boys creator Eric Kripke was asked about Herogasm’s inclusion, and he explained that it will certainly be included. With Soldier Boy and Stormfront as the show’s leads, they feel the need to eventually explore the shocking event. Check out their quote below:

“I think we’d be crazy not to, because Soldier Boy and Stormfront founded it, and they are the two leads of this new show.”

Vought Rising Needs To Cover Herogasm

Soldier Boy and Stormfront were essential to Herogasm.

In The Boys season 3, episode 6, “Herogasm”, a group of lesser-known supes gathers to participate in a massive orgy that eventually results in a horrific massacre. The 70th Herogasm became a traumatic event for the supe community, as many were butchered in the ensuing fight between Soldier Boy, Homelander, and the Boys. While that fight proved devastating to supes, the previous 69 Herogasms were nothing but rewarding for every supe invited to the event, and it all started with Soldier Boy and Stormfront.

Because Vought Rising will explore exactly how Vought became an international juggernaut of a corporation, it will likely need to detail every major event in the company’s history until Soldier Boy’s disappearance. Herogasm is one of those important events. It would be interesting to see how the celebration came about and how Soldier Boy managed to convince Vought to cover for their absence. With Vought constantly forced to manufacture yearly conflicts for the supes to excuse their time away, it likely created massive logistical crises for the fledgling company.

There are also economic reasons to encourage Herogasm’s inclusion in the show. The event was a massive viewership draw, as it was heavily anticipated by audiences. As controversial as Herogasm was, it helped to establish the lore of the universe and makes it feel more realistic. With The Boys hoping to build so much attention and hype from Herogasm, the prequel could easily capitalize off of the prequel’s exploration of its origin. It may be difficult to present the backstory without any serious conflicts between stars, but it would still be fascinating to see how it develops the event.
