Taylor Swift hit by major stage malfunction during iconic song during third night in New Orleans

Taylor Swift was challenged with a major stage malfunction during her third and final night performing at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Sunday.

The 34-year-old pop star’s reflective silver platform – which fans affectionately dubbed the ‘Tayoomba’ – suddenly stopped working after she sang the first verse of Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me during The Tortured Poets Department segment.

Taylor decided to sing on the ground before dancing down the catwalk while her back-up dancers eventually pushed the broken prop off the stage of the 83K-seat stadium.

It also marked the first time Swift had to perform her track Down Bad without the ‘Tayoomba.’

X user @penthouseheart tweeted: ‘She played it off so well I’m surprised this is the first time this has happened LOL!’

‘Taylor Swift is such a seasoned professional,’ X user @moonlithoax marveled.

‘Her stage stopped working and she got off the platform and worked that stage anyway! Not a beat was missed this is amazing!’

Instagram user @giselle_barajas1234 commented: ‘I think her walking rather than being levitated makes it even more raw and dramatic. But either way it’s powerful.’

‘The way she 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁ed that, I wouldn’t mind if it breaks again,’ Instagram user @palakb0905 wrote.

Instagram user @rainbowsoph99 commented: ‘The performance was almost better this way, her improvisation was incredible.’

‘Can we take a look how one of the dancers took care to not the others to not fall?’ Instagram user @micaela.jonas noted.

‘Last minute issues solved like real pros! Tay and everyone!’

The 14-time Grammy winner’s final song of the night was Karma and she gave her boyfriend of 15 months – Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce – a shout-out after his team won (27-20) against the Las Vegas Raiders in Nevada on Sunday.

Swift is next scheduled to bring her $1.93B-grossing, 149-date The Eras Tour to the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

The Pennsylvania-born hitmaker – who gets 91.6M monthly listeners on Spotify – will concludes The Eras Tour on December 8 in Vancouver.

Taylor has just two more archival albums (Taylor Swift and Reputation) to re-record after losing the rights to the first six of her master recordings by her underhanded ex-manager Scooter Braun, who’s since retired from the music industry.
