Anna Kendrick makes a subtle appearance amidst rumors of a feud with Blake Lively

Anna Kendrick hauled her luggage through LAX Airport after landing in Los Angeles on Monday ahead of promoting Another Simple Favor with her problematic castmate Blake Lively.

The 39-year-old Oscar nominee kept low-key wearing a beige baseball cap, black face mask, grey zip-up hoodie, brown Bandier sweatpants, and black combat boots.

On March 7, Anna will likely be contractually obliged to attend the world premiere of Paul Feig’s sequel at the South by Southwest Festival in Austin, TX; but it’s unclear if her 37-year-old co-star will be there amid her legal war with It Ends with Us director-star Justin Baldoni.

Kendrick reprised her role as vlogger-turned-detective Stephanie Smothers traveling to Italy to attend the lavish wedding of Emily Nelson (Blake), who’s somehow free after being sentenced to 20 years in prison for the double murder of her father and sister.

When the Another Simple Favor movie poster was first unveiled last Tuesday, fans wondered why Lively’s name was placed higher than the Woman of the Hour director-star in the billing.

‘In the original film Anna got top billing over Blake,’ an insider claimed to DailyMail.com on February 7.

‘She thought it was a no-brainer that the same would happen this time around. But Blake didn’t see it that way. She fought, through her reps to get top billing over Anna, who refused to bow to Blake’s demands.

‘Finally, after weeks of negotiations a deal was struck between the actresses. They agreed on staggered billing, which meant Anna’s name would read first and Blake’s would be above hers but on the right-hand side. In the business that’s considered equal billing.’

However, a source told TMZ the same day there was no ‘secret feud’ as ‘billing is established before production even starts and has nothing to do with either Blake or Anna.’

But no anonymous insider can deny the substantial backlash written in the thousands of comments and likes on the movie poster announcement where Instagram users vowed to never watch Another Simple Favor when it premieres May 1 on Prime Video solely because of the Gossip Girl alum.

Instagram user @pamkj’s comment ‘Thoughts and prayers to Anna Kendrick’ received over 25K likes.

Instagram user @hira.sagheer’s comment ‘Anna, blink twice if you need help’ received over 4K likes.

‘I feel sorry for any actor or actress that is in a movie with Blake Lively,’ Instagram user @rushdavids wrote in her comment with over 7K likes.

‘At this point they are just collateral damage. This is what happens when you get too big for your boots. Stay humble.’

Instagram user @ranichild commented: ‘I feel bad for Anna. No one will be watching or supporting this movie.’

And Instagram user @anita.jane.masiero commented: ‘Oh Anna, I’m so sorry that you are collateral damage in your [co-star’s] drama. I can’t support Blake Lively’

Meanwhile, the 62-year-old filmmaker responded to one user who asked whether it wound up being Blake’s cut or his cut of the movie.

‘It’s my cut. There is no other cut,’ Paul wrote.

‘Blake has been nothing but supportive and a dream to work with. She is the best and an amazing collaborator and I’m her biggest fan. Just wanted to clear that up.’

Last May, Anna was all smiles on the set as she joined Feig and castmates Alex Newell, Elena Sofia Ricci, Allison Janney, and Lorenzo de Moor for ‘a simple dinner’ without Lively.

However, the LA-born blonde did pose for a quick selfie with castmate Elena while shooting the Capri-set black comedy mystery.

The first film scored a ‘certified fresh’ 84% critic approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and amassed $97.6M at the global box office

Another Simple Favor will also feature Henry Golding, Andrew Rannells, Elizabeth Perkins, Bashir Salahuddin, Joshua Satine, and Ian Ho.

Blake has faced substantial outrage over her treatment of journalists, sarcastically answering questions about domestic violence in the movie, and floral-filled Barbie-style promotion directly tied to her haircare and booze brands.

By contrast, Kendrick donated her entire Woman of the Hour salary to the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network and the National Center for Victims of Crime so she wouldn’t profit from accounts of 𝓈ℯ𝓍ual violence victims.

But the real drama all began for Lively on December 20 when she filed a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department against Baldoni for 𝓈ℯ𝓍ual harassment and retaliation on the set of It Ends with Us, and revealed her side to the New York Times.

The 41-year-old director immediately filed a libel lawsuit for $250M against the New York Times for biased coverage of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants alum’s ‘vicious smear campaign’ and she filed a lawsuit against him and his PR team on December 31 for his ‘plan to undermine her reputation in retaliation.’

On January 16, Justin filed a second $400M lawsuit against Blake, her powerful husband Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist Leslie Sloan for civil extortion, defamation, and invasion of privacy.

During the pre-trial conference a week ago, Manhattan US District Judge Lewis J. Liman warned Baldoni and Lively’s legal teams he would move up the trial scheduled for March 2026 if they continue making statements in public that could prejudice the proceedings but there’s no gag order.

On Monday, the Jane the Virgin alum admitted he was ‘feeling not enough’ during an appearance on Gent’s Talk Podcast, which was pretaped last November before his legal war

Justin confessed: ‘Today sitting down here with you, before [me and my publicist Jen] came, I had anxiety because I just I’m not feeling like my full self. This morning I sent a text message to my best friend Jamie and the president of my company Wayfarer [Studios] and I told them that I wasn’t in the best place. I told them that I was exhausted [and] that I haven’t given myself time to recover or time to heal. I had an intense year [with] a lot of material success and a lot of emotional stress was very hard on me and my family’

Ultimately, Baldoni – who broke down in tears discussing mending his relationship with his father Sam – reminded himself that very morning: ‘I don’t have to be perfect to be loved.’
