Chad Ochocinco Fires Back at Cam’ron: ‘Proud of My Frugal Lifestyle

Chad Ochocinco says he doesn’t understand how his past remarks about Cam’ron were “taken as hate.”

During a recent Nightcap chat with Shannon Sharpe, Ocho, who was earlier this week made the subject of some choice words from the It Is What It Is co-host, explained that the remarks in question put him in a ponderous state of mind.

“I had to think about it and I had to listen to it and think about some stuff that was brought up from two years ago where I said, ‘Cam, you my mans and I’m coming for your spot,’” the former NFL player said, as seen below. “Now I’m not sure how that’s taken as hate when all you have to do is understand that I’m saying I’m coming for your spot because I see you as the standard that is setting the bar in that specific space. So you took that as an insult, which is weird to me. I’m not sure how you can do that.”

As for his past vow to be coming for Cam’s spot in the podcast space, Ocho went on to argue that he’s since “already done and surpassed that,” though he repeatedly insisted that he means none of this from a place of disrespect. Instead, he now sees himself and Cam as being in “completely different lanes and in completely different rooms.” Furthermore, per Ocho, Cam didn’t have the budget to bring him into the fold years ago.

“For one, you wouldn’t have been able to afford me to begin with,” Ocho said. “Let’s start there. And I’m not trying to be disrespectful.”

Ocho went on to say that he has “love” for what Cam is doing on It Is What It Is, which he co-hosts with Mase and Treasure “Stat Baby” Wilson, again reiterating that he sees their work versus his own as constituting “completely different shows.”

Later, Ocho addressed the Stephen A. Smith-focused aspect of Cam’s recent remarks, which included more than a few words on the topic of p**isenlargement.

“Listen, for one, the whole world knows I’m joking and trolling,” he said. “It’s a funny story that wasn’t even true to begin with and you took that serious.”

Winding down his Cam response, Ocho noted that he is “easy to find,” particularly in the Miami area. See more above.

By Thursday morning, Ocho’s response-which, to be clear, did indeed see him praising what It Is What It Is has built-had been brought up to Cam and Mase by Stat Baby. While Cam said he would wait to fully address the remarks when he’s back in the studio, Mase couldn’t help but laugh.
