On March 29, G-Dragon shared a quote from Friedrich Nietzsche, “When you stare into the abyss, the abyss stares back at you. Creation is both a salvation of suffering and a consolation to life. To create, however, requires a lot of changes as his own suffering follows. I’m meant to be.”
Last week, G-Dragon also posted an SNS photo that sparked speculation that he may have been indirectly referencing Kim Soo Hyun.
On his secondary account, G-Dragon shared a screenshot from MBC’s “Infinite Challenge” showing Haha shouting, “Get it together! In this harsh world!“
Previously, a Taiwanese SNS account that covers Korean entertainment news conducted a poll asking for netizens’ opinions on whether Kim Soo Hyun should step down from “Good Day” following allegations of grooming Kim Sae Ron while she was underage. Despite the controversy, Kim Soo Hyun proceeded with recording “Good Day” on that same day.
The most voted response was: “It seems like this will be hard for G-Dragon.” Other top responses included support for Kim Soo Hyun’s removal from the show, his expulsion from the entertainment industry, and the belief that people should wait for Kim Soo Hyun’s side of the story.
G-Dragon “liked” this post, and fans quickly took notice of it.
Regarding the episode that was canceled on March 23, MBC stated, “We are taking a week off to reorganize the program.” However, the prevailing assumption is that the cancellation was due to the backlash from the controversy involving Kim Soo Hyun—formerly one of the show’s “88-line” members—and his alleged relationship with Kim Sae Ron during her underage years.
On the March 16 episode, “Good Day” had partially edited out Kim Soo Hyun’s appearance but was criticized for not removing him completely.
The edited version of “Good Day“—excluding Kim Soo Hyun—is set to air at 9:10 PM on March 30. In this episode, the “Good Day” family finally gathers in one place, centering around G-Dragon.
Close acquaintances who supported the project in various ways, including Jung Hyung Don, Defconn, Code Kunst and Jo Se Ho, will appear alongside all the guests involved in the project for a grand “Good Day General Meeting”.
