G-Dragon Breaks Silence on SNS Controversy: ‘I’m Too Busy for Drama

G-Dragon made his highly anticipated return to the stage on March 29 with his “G-Dragon 2025 World Tour: Übermensch in Korea” at the Goyang Sports Complex in Ilsan, marking his first solo concert in eight years. Amid the electrifying performances and fanfare, the BIGBANG member also took a moment to address a recent online controversy surrounding his social media activity.

During the concert, G-Dragon responded to speculation about his frequent use of the “like” button on Instagram, particularly after he was seen liking a post related to castmate Kim Soo-hyun’s potential exit from MBC’s variety show “Good Day” amid allegations linked to the late actress Kim Sae-ron.

“Honestly, I didn’t think much of it,” G-Dragon told the crowd. “If something doesn’t seem bad, I just hit ‘like.’ I like a lot of things. People assume I’m endlessly scrolling, but it doesn’t take that long.”

Currently serving as the main host of “Good Day,” produced by Kim Tae-ho, G-Dragon found himself indirectly caught in the fallout from the controversy. Addressing rumors of SNS addiction with humor, he added, “People ask if I’m on SNS 24/7 or if I’m addicted, but I’m actually really busy. When I check it briefly, I see real-time tags and just hit ‘like.’ There’s no ‘dislike’ button, though even if there was, I’d probably still press ‘like.’”

Despite the light-hearted moment, the concert was not without its own share of controversy. G-Dragon appeared on stage 73 minutes later than scheduled, citing severe weather conditions including freezing temperatures and strong winds. Many fans, braving the cold in anticipation, expressed frustration over the delay.

Nevertheless, the event marks an important milestone in G-Dragon’s career. His “Übermensch” tour is his third world tour and his first since 2017’s “ACT III: M.O.T.T.E.” The tour is set to continue across Asia, with performances scheduled in Tokyo, Bulacan (Philippines), Osaka, Macau, Taiwan, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, and Hong Kong. As G-Dragon returns to the spotlight, his words and actions, online and off, are once again making headlines, proving his enduring presence and influence in the world of K-pop.
