G-Dragon Launches Music into Space

G-Dragon is set to make history by sending his music and music video into space—a first for a Korean artist.

According to his agency Galaxy Corporation on April 9, G-Dragon partnered with KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) to launch the project using Azure OpenAI’s Sora, an advanced artificial intelligence service provided by Microsoft’s Azure platform.

G-Dragon, who also serves as an invited professor in KAIST’s Department of Mechanical Engineering, aims to bridge the worlds of space science, artificial intelligence, and entertainment. His agency described the project as a groundbreaking milestone for the future of ‘entertainment tech.’

The space transmission event is scheduled at 8 PM KST today at the KAIST Satellite Technology Research Center. The project is connected with NASA’s SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) initiative.

SETI previously made headlines by transmitting music from British rock band The Beatles into space. With this endeavor, G-Dragon becomes the first Korean artist to take part in the iconic project.
