50 Cent Clowns Ja Rule & Vows To Lift Minnesota Timberwolves ‘Curse

50 Cent has vowed to lift the “curse” his rival Ja Rule placed on the Minnesota Timberwolves following his embarrassing 2019 halftime show performance.

On Thursday (March 30), the G-Unit boss took to Instagram with a video of him walking through the Timberwolves locker room facility at the Target Center to give fans an inside look at the team and the front office staff.

Toward the end of the clip, 50 Cent took a shot at his longtime rival by promising to lift the curse Ja Rule put on the team four years ago.

“We had a curse! Somebody fucked up, and they let Ja Rule perform at halftime,” 50 joked while meeting and greeting people in the team’s office space. “Now, what we’re gonna do is take the curse

A clip of Ja’s performance then popped up on one of the computer screens in the T-Wolves’ office, followed by audio of Shannon Sharpe saying: “Skip, this might be worse than Fyre Festival” — the Undisputed host referring to the disastrous music festival that Ja Rule co-founded.

50’s joke was a reference to Ja cursing the Timberwolves after people clowned his halftime performance when the Minnesota NBA team took on the Bucks in a game in Milwaukee in 2019. The Murder Inc. rapper took to his Twitter to lay the curse upon the team in retaliation to the backlash he received for the halftime performance.

“You just jinx yourself talking to the GOD this way… your CURSED NOW!!!” he wrote in response to a fan. “You won’t win a championship for the next 30 years… AND KAT IS LEAVING!!! Apologise and I’ll lift the CURSE!!! Kiss of death…”

50 was in Minnesota this week to celebrate the partnership his brand Sire Spirits has just signed with the Timberwolves. On Monday (March 27), the NBA announced that the T-Wolves are entering into a “multi-year partnership” with 50’s spirits company.

The deal will see Sire Spirits become the official spirit partner of the Timberwolves from the 2023-24 season, with its award-winning Branson Cognac and Le Chemin du Roi Champagne being made available at the Target Center.

The emerging partnership will also include a new bar inside the arena with naming rights on the 200-Level, which will serve speciality cocktails made with Sire Spirts products, as well as “Sip & See” VIP pre-game happy hour for players’ wives, girlfriends and family members.

Additionally, 50’s G-Unity Foundation will partner with the Timberwolves and Lynx Basketball Academy to host community basketball clinics throughout the season at the Timberwolves’ practice facility.

Timberwolves and Lynx Chief Operating Officer Ryan Tanke expressed his excitement to be partnering with both 50 Cent (real name Curtis Jackson) and his award-winning wine and spirits company.

“We are excited to launch this partnership with Sire Spirits and to introduce Wolves fans to Sire’s award-winning cognac and champagne,” Tanke said in a statement. “Moreover, Curtis’ commitment through his G-Unity Foundation aligns with our community programming to not only grow the game of basketball, but cultivate and foster life s𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁s for our local youth.”

50 added: “I had the opportunity to meet with the Timberwolves and knew they were the perfect partners for Sire Spirits. I am a big fan of the team, and I am excited to spend more time in Minnesota and get to know all the fans.”

This is now the fourth NBA team 50 Cent has partnered with, following the Houston Rockets, Sacramento Kings and Indiana Pacers.
