50 Cent Mocks Redman For Giving Up ‘Power’ Role Over Jab

50 Cent has let his humor run wild once again by poking fun at Redman‘s reason for not appearing in Season 3 of Power Book II: Ghost.

On Saturday (July 1), Fif reposted a clip of an interview where Redman was speaking about why he was noticeably absent from the hit TV show this season.

“I walked away from Power,” he explained. “I walked away from Power after the second episode because everybody on the show had to have the jab and I wasn’t with it. That’s what I’m saying. You have to stand your ground.

“Like, would Power have been a game changer for me? Yes. The money was good. It’s a well-known show that could’ve helped my career. But, is my health less important than being on the show? Fuck no!”

He added: “My health is more important to me. And I had to make a choice. Either I was going to sacrifice myself with this third-world order bullshit or I just walk away.”

Being the consummate businessman that he is, 50 Cent wasted no time by not only bragging about his TV show, but also proudly letting people know that he’s vaccinated and not missing out on the bag.

“He’s not lying he walked right away [walk away emoji] from the #1 show in African American and Latino house holds,” he said. “SMH [laughing and squinting eyes emoji] I took the shot fuck that. LOL.”

The Def Squad legend’s reasoning matches up with Method Man’s comments on the The Breakfast Club about the topic back in June.

“You really wanna know why? He wouldn’t get the jab,” Meth explained when asked about his rhyme partner’s absence from the show. “At least that’s what I heard. Did I talk to Redman about it, No? … Shit like that don’t even need to be said. He’s not the first or the last person that’ll probably happen to.”

He added: “Redman, he made a decision and I stick by whatever that decision was. If he feels that was best for him, I agree with him.”

Actor Jordan Mahon ended up stepping into Red’s shoes to handle the role of Theo Rollins in Season 3 of Power Book II. Rollins played the sick brother of Davis MacLean (Method Man) who was behind bars for a crime that MacLean, a prominent lawyer, actually committed.

Unfortunately, Rollins’ time in the show came to an end in Season 3 when he died by suicide after murdering dirty lawyer Cooper Saxe and shooting himself seconds later.

Redman isn’t the first rapper-actor to have issues with Hollywood’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Ice Cube also lost out on a role due to his anti-vaccination stance in 2021.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cube quit the movie Oh Hell No after declining producers’ requests to get vaccinated, resulting in him losing out on a $9million paycheck.

Cube has been vocal about wearing masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19 as he handed out 2,000 face masks to use as personal protective equipment to Bacone College in Oklahoma, but it seems that’s the only protection he believes was needed.
