Celebrities from across the globe are invited by Vogue’s Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour to grace the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of New York. However, not everyone can attain an invite just like that; only around 600 people make the list each year. This year’s theme is “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” which will showcase some rare fashion pieces, but will rare celebrities come out to celebrate the event?

Meghan Markle isn’t confirmed to attend the 2024 Met Gala. With Harry going to England for the Invictus Games and Archie’s birthday coming up, it’s likely that she will skip out.
A source divulged to Page Six that a missing invite doesn’t mean that Anna hates them. “It’s Anna’s party, and just because you’re not invited doesn’t mean she doesn’t like you necessarily – you may not be up to her fashion standards.”
For what Anna Wintour actually thinks of Meghan Markle, she has been praising her ever since her wedding. In her Vogue series Go Ask Anna, she said, “I read somewhere that there were members of the royal household that were confused and upset that she woke up so early, at 5 a.m. She’s a normal California girl who gets up early and does yoga and meditates. She also sent a lot of text messages. I mean, what did they expect? That she was going to send messages via pigeon? I think she’s amazing.” She also adored her wedding to Prince Harry, “The royal wedding had the whole world watching, and I think that her choice was brilliant. It was sophisticated, it was chic, it was grown up.”
Is Prince Harry attending the Met Gala?
It’s not known whether or not Prince Harry will be attending the Met Gala until the event is in full effect. However, it might interfere with his trip back to the UK. The Duke of Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍 is scheduled to make an appearance at the Invictus Games on May 8, 2024. According to ITV News’s royal editor, Chris Ship, the king would likely “find a gap” in his schedule to see his son amid his cancer diagnosis. “When he comes, he will probably see his dad,” Ship said.

According to The Telegraph, on “Wednesday, [Charles] will have his weekly audience with the Prime Minister before he hopes to attend the first Buckingham Palace garden party of the season.”
There are high hopes for a meeting, with royal expert Tom Quinn adding that “It’s going to be very difficult for Harry to come to the UK and not visit his stricken father, King Charles.”
