After a video of him dancing to Kendrick Lamar’s Drake hate song “Not Like Us” went viral, T-Pain defended himself.
When the chart-topping hit came on over the weekend as the singer was performing in Las Vegas, the “I’m Sprung” hitmaker started dancing a lot.
Pain responded to criticism of the video from Drake supporters on X (formerly Twitter) by writing: “Welp! Folks, you heard it here first. Dance in a robe while intoxicated. It’s now, in some way, a political statement.
“Please don’t let resentment toward someone else ruin your fun. Please let people dance! But mustard đđžđđed that damn beat. Itâd be very bizarre if you didnât dance to it.â
T-Pain previously offered his thoughts on the beef between Drake and Kendrick Lamar and refused to pick a side.
Speaking on his Nappy Boy Radio show in April, he said: âDrake or Kendrick? I choose to mind my fucking business. It ainât got nothing to do with me. It ainât gonna hurt my pockets if I pick one or the other. Donât give a fuck.
âItâs cool, like, the sport of rap and stuff is fine but past that? âI wonder what Drake did to make everybody so mad.â Who gives a shit? He ainât do it to you. Keep moving.â
He added: âYouâre gonna not go to work tomorrow to try to figure out what Drake did? No. Still gotta go to work. Go to fucking work! Listen to the songs â not the A.I. ones, those are fucking terrible.
âThe fact that some people canât figure out, especially that last K. Dot song was A.I. Oh my God. Not only did it sound A.I. but some of them bars were wack as shit. And if that was K. Dot, we would have had some kind of problem.â
