Miller’s Time: Returning to the ring, Andy Ruiz Jr. faces rival Anthony Joshua, and supporters exclaim, “A year ago, this would have been impossible.”

Ruiz Jr.’s return is a component of Los Angeles’ well-stacked deck.

On August 3, ANDY RUIZ JR. will square off against Jarrell Miller.

The 34-year-old former heavyweight champion will make his fight debut after defeating Luis Ortiz in September 2022.

Andy Ruiz Jr is set to return to action in August.

Jarrell Miller will fight Ruiz Jr in Los Angeles.

Ruiz Jr.’s next fight is scheduled to take place at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles on the undercard of Terence Crawford vs. Israil Madrimov.

In June 2019, Miller, his opponent, was scheduled to face Anthony Joshua at Madison Square Garden. Miller is 35 years old.

But after “Big Baby” tested positive for several prohibited substances, the fight was called off.

Due to this, Ruiz Jr. was able to step in on short notice, and the Mexican-American shocked everyone by stopping AJ to win the heavyweight title.

In December of same year, Joshua defeated him in a rematch in Saudi Arabia.

Ruiz Jr. was then out of action until May 2021, when he returned to defeat Chris Arreola.

In his most recent bout, he defeated Ortiz in Los Angeles before having surgery on his right shoulder.

Miller, 35, competed for the first time since his postponed AJ match against Ariel Esteban Bracamonte in June 2022.

He then extended his winning streak to 26-0 with victories over Derek Cardenas and Lucas Browne.

In his previous match, he was defeated by Brit Daniel Dubois in the final eight seconds.

Both Ruiz Jr. and Miller will be hoping to claw their way back into the title contention with a win.

In response to the fight, one fan posted on social media, “That’s just an unreal card.” “A year ago, this would have been impossible.”

On the undercard, Martin Bakole will take on Jared Anderson.

Pitbull Cruz is scheduled to battle Jose Valenzuela, while David Morrell will face Radivoje Kalajdzic.

Andy Cruz fights Antonio Moran to close out the undercard.

Joshua beat Ruiz Jr in their Saudi rematch in December 2019.
