Francis Ngannou’s Trainer Unveils Ambitious Goals: Plans for Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury KOs in Boxing ‘Miracle’ Year!

Francis Ngannou aims to make boxing history in 2024.

‘The Predator’ nearly pulled off the biggest upset of all time when he stunned WBC heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury in his boxing debut in October.

The UFC fighter insulted Fury when he was on the ground.

Ngannou ultimately lost the fight via a difficult split decision, but he did enough to clinch another large boxing paycheck against Anthony Joshua.

On March 8, the Cameroonian will face Joshua in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, hoping to win his debut fight in the sport.

A return to MMA has been discussed, and 6ft 8ins knockout artist Renan Ferreira has been suggested as Ngannou’s comeback opponent – but his coach believes that boxing is the focus this year.

Dewey Cooper, who met Ngannou at Floyd Mayweather’s camp in 2017, says his ambition is to become the undisputed heavyweight champion after two major knockout victories.

First, Ngannou will look to stop Joshua this weekend, before aiming to face the winner of Oleksandr Usyk’s four-belt unification fight with Fury, which is set for May 18.

“It would be an insane year if he stops Joshua, and Tyson Fury somehow, it’s not a guarantee, but somehow, he defeats Usyk,” Cooper told talkSPORT.com.

“Tyson Fury has all the belts. Francis and Tyson Fury in a rematch for all the belts, the undisputed heavyweight championship. Francis knocks out Tyson Fury and becomes the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.

“All the belts in just three boxing fights. You can’t write this. Insane!”

Ngannou and Cooper have worked together for seven years.

Cooper thinks his fighter is capable of becoming the best heavyweight in boxing this year.

Cooper understands the task in front of his fighter, but Ngannou’s ferocious KO power means he is potentially only two punches away from completing a sporting miracle.

Especially as boxing promoter Eddie Hearn recently claimed that the plan is to have the winners of Joshua vs Ngannou and Usyk vs Fury fight each other later this year.

Cooper added: “That’s the possibility. If the universe works out in our favour, this story will never happen again, this would be a miracle in the making that people can only marvel at for centuries to come.

“Francis has the opportunity to do something that I’m telling you right now will never be repeated, but we are going to take it one step at a time.”
