Controversy Erupts: Blackpink’s Jennie Kim Apologizes After Vaping Indoors Sparks Massive Backlash.

Jennie Kim of Blackpink has apologized for a video clip showing her using a vape indoors, which sparked controversy.

The South Korean musician, who participated in a Calvin Klein campaign earlier this year, apologized via her Odd Atelier record label (OA).

Blackpink singer Jennie Kim has apologized after receiving anger for a video clip showing her smoking a vape indoors; shown at the 2023 Met Gala.

“We sincerely apologize to everyone who felt uncomfortable with Jennie’s behavior in the content released on the 2nd,” the statement stated, referring a vlog aired on Jennie’s YouTube channel earlier this month.

The video shows the pop star getting hair and cosmetics done for a Jacquemus fashion presentation in Italy.

It went on, ‘Jennie accepts and profoundly regrets her faults of vaping indoors and causing inconvenience to the personnel.’

In the clip, the pop star sat in a chair while getting her hair and makeup done for a Jacquemus fashion show in Italy

In a segment from the nine-minute film “A Moment in Capri with Jennie,” the star holds the pen to her mouth and exhales vapor.

OA further stated that the musician personally apologized to employees and promised to project ‘a more mature and better image in the future.’

Following the criticism, many followers defended Jennie in her Instagram comments.

‘pls, don’t listen anyone, you are queen and WE WILL SUPPORT YOU FOREVER!’ one person wrote under her latest post.

Someone else added, ‘I still love you Nini. We learn from the mistakes we make. Hopefully in the future we can be more careful and better. It’s ok.

‘THANK YOU FOR ACKNOWLEDGING YOUR MISTAKE AND FOR SINCERELY APOLOGIZING TO YOUR STAFF AND THE PUBLIC. Love You To The Moon.’

There was also a note to the songstress that read, ‘you are not wrong and you don’t need to say sorry to anybody! just be yourself!’

One supporter reasoned: ‘at least vape smoke smells good. what’s the big deal?’

The 28-year-old South Korean performer issued the apology via her Odd Atelier record label, also known as OA; seen in her latest Instagram post

Kim announced the start of her music label in December, just before the new year.

She added in an Instagram Story: ‘This year has been full with accomplishments, and I am grateful for all of the love I’ve gotten.

‘I’m also looking forward to my solo adventure in 2024, which will be led by OA, a firm I founded. Please show plenty of love for my new beginnings with OA and, of course, Blackpink.

On the label’s Instagram page, a note read: “OA, which stands for ODD ATELIER, is a space that aims to create new things that attract attention in a different way than what is usual or expected.” Artist JENNIE founded the label in November 2023.
