“Eddie Hearn Drops Bombshell: Anthony Joshua’s Next Opponent Revealed if He Beats Daniel Dubois!

Eddie Hearn has a clear strategy for Anthony Joshua, should he defeats Daniel Dubois this summer.

On September 21, Dubois will defend his IBF heavyweight title in an all-British clash at Wembley Stadium.

Anthony Joshua has the chance to become a three-time heavyweight world champion against Daniel Dubois.

Dubois was upgraded from interim to full world champion when Oleksandr Usyk vacated the strap last night after unifying all four major sanctioning body belts against Tyson Fury in May.

Usyk will now face Fury in a rematch on December 21 for the WBO, WBA, and WBC titles while Joshua and Dubois will fight for the fourth belt.

If AJ emerges victorious then Hearn wants his man to face the winner of Usyk vs Fury II for the undisputed heavyweight crown.

Speaking at the launch press conference for Joshua and Dubois’ upcoming clash, Hearn said: “The answer from AJ of course will be [focus on] September 21 but as a team, we have a plan and a vision.

“We have always believed he will be undisputed champion, as it happens the re-rise of Anthony Joshua has given us more confidence than ever and we don’t see anybody in the division beating him.

“Not just Daniel Dubois, anybody… We’ve had a dream, we have been manifesting the undisputed championship, it’s not a question of if or maybe and there is no contract to fight the winner [of Usyk vs Fury] it’s just going to happen.

“He’s going to win this fight and then he is going to beat the winner of Fury-Usyk.

“But he’s just focused on September 21, I’ve just got wild dreams that I know are going to happen because I can see it, I can smell it and I can breathe it and I can’t wait.”

The winner of Joshua vs Dubois should face the winner of Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury.

British boxing fans will be hoping Joshua and Fury can win their next fights so they can finally get it on.

The blockbuster showdown has been in negotiations several times to no avail.

The closest they got to facing each other was in 2021, when the heavyweight heavyweights agreed to a two-bout contract, only for a judge in the United States to determine that Deontay Wilder was entitled to a third battle against Fury.

Joshua was then compelled to face Usyk, his WBO mandatory, who defeated him in back-to-back fights, forcing the Fury fight to be canceled.

Most recently, the competitors agreed on financial conditions to fight in December, but the talks broke through.

Fury stated after the collapse that he was ‘done’ with Joshua, but he has since altered his mind.

Fury laid up a five-fight plan in February, before his debut against Usyk, saying: “I’ve got two fights with Usyk for the undisputed, twice.

“Then I’m going to fight AJ [Joshua] at least once, maybe twice, if he wants a rematch after the first blow I give him.

“Then I’m going to fight [Francis] Ngannou again. And that’s just the start.

“So there are five little fights for you to whet your appetite with. I ain’t going nowhere.”
