Anthony Joshua continues to enjoy some time away from boxing in New York while waiting for his next opponent. Who’s care?

Anthony Joshua continues to enjoy some time away from boxing as he posed for a scenic picture in New York’s Central Park on Tuesday night.

Joshua, who shared photos of himself and friends at the popular tourist destination in the Big Apple on Instagram, is still waiting to see who his next opponent will be when he makes his highly-anticipated comeback to the ring.

The heavyweight champion has a Wembley date penciled in the diary for April 13 but Tyson Fury‘s draw with Deontay Wilder has now thrown his own plans into disarray.

Joshua, who has recently been on a skiing trip, continues to enjoy time away from the training camp as he posed for a photo in front of the iconic Bethesda Fountain in Central Park.

The 29-year-old and his four friends also took a group shot in front of another small fountain in the grounds of the famous park.

WBC heavyweight champion Wilder claimed on Tuesday that Joshua’s team are now the ones ‘begging’ for a heavyweight unification fight.

Joshua holds the IBF, WBO and WBA titles, while Wilder just about held onto his WBC belt in a controversial drawn fight with Fury in Los Angeles earlier this month.

The WBC has sanctioned a rematch, potentially pushing clashes between Joshua and Wilder, as well as Joshua and Fury, further into the distance.

Wilder told Joe Rogan’s podcast: ‘They’re definitely begging now. He’s trying to reach out, all of a sudden, his management trying to reach out to mine.

‘But he could have had this opportunity. He had many opportunities. He could have fought Luis Ortiz, he could have fought me, he had a chance to fight Fury as well.

‘People want to know who’s the best now. Especially after seeing this Fury fight.

‘I’ve been trying to show people who’s the best. I always say I’m the best. I’ll forever say I’m the best until I get defeated.’
