David Arquette assess Lala Kent of Vanderpump Rules ‘wasn’t the nicest to me’

David Arquette is opening up about his brief collaboration with Lala Kent, star of Vanderpump Rules, in the 2020 film Spree.

The movie, which centers on rideshare driver Kurt (Joe Keery), who devises a cunning scheme to “go viral,” features no moments that Arquette, 52, and Kent, 33, shared.

In the movie, which made its premiere at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival, Arquette plays Kurt’s father Kris, while Kent plays one of his passengers, Kendra Sheraton.

Arquette – who recently paid tribute to late Crazy Town frontman Shifty Shellshock – appeared on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live on Sunday, where he was asked by a fan about working with Kent.

‘I didn’t really have any scenes, we met a couple times in the screening. Not the friendliest to me,’ Arquette admitted.

He added, ‘I mean not — I don’t know. I felt a little attitude. I wasn’t trying to give attitude, oh, why am I getting attitude.’

When host Andy Cohen asked if the encounter made him feel like he was on her reality show Vanderpump Rules, Arquette said, ‘Yes, exactly.’

Kent responded with a public apology on her Instagram story Monday afternoon, where she tagged Arquette.

‘@davidarquette, I apologize if I was not friendly to you on the set of Spree. I’d like to point out I was on set with many people, you being one of them, who are well-known, established actors,’ Kent began.

‘I am a girl on reality TV. I felt intimidated and like I didn’t belong, all the while being incredibly grateful for the opportunity. I’m sorry if that came off as an attitude. That was not my intent,’ she concluded about Spree, which was her 10th feature film.

The film – which also stars Sasheer Zamata, Mischa Barton and Jessalyn Gilsig – was acquired at Sundance by RJLE Films for $2 million.

The film was released in theaters and video-on-demand (VOD) formats in August, though many theaters were still closed due to COVID-19.

It only earned $28,771 domestic and $50,616 worldwide, with a Blu-ray and DVD release following in October and a Hulu debut later that year.

While Kent is best known for starring on the Bravo reality series Vanderpump Rules and her engagement to producer Randall Emmett, she has starred in several films.

Many of those films were produced by Emmett, such as 2018’s The Row, 2019’s 10 Minutes Gone and Trauma Center and 2021’s Out of Death.

Kent broke up with Emmett in October 2021 after allegations that he was cheating on her surfaced.
