Lil Yachty wishes he had not discussed Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s Beef: ‘ I just wish I had never spoke on it’

and Kendrick Lamar’s Beef

Although the heat between Drake and Kendrick Lamar seems to have simmered down since the release of the viral “Not Like Us” video, discussions about their rivalry continue to ignite interest among hip-hop enthusiasts.

On July 31, Lil Yachty stopped by Andrew Schulz’s “Flagrant” podcast to share his views on the ongoing spat between the two rap icons.

During the episode, Yachty expressed his perspective on why some critics target Drake.

“I think people are just hating on Drake because he’s the guy.”

The artist stated. He then referenced a past episode of the “A Safe Place” podcast, where he had openly discussed being mentioned in Kendrick’s track, “Euphoria.”

Reflecting on that episode, Lil Yachty confessed,:

“I wish I had never [spoken] on it. I wish I hadn’t said any part about it.”

He also clarified an incident where he liked a tweet insinuating that Kendrick had been unfaithful, insisting it was purely accidental, not some deliberate commentary on the situation.

As the conversation progressed, Schulz pointed out Drake’s enduring popularity in social settings, noting how his tracks still dominate clubs and parties. Yachty responded candidly:

“Outside of the people who care about Hip Hop, [nobody gives a f**k] at all.”

Lil Yachty Reveals Regret Over Comments on Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s Feud:

His comments allude to the notion that the feud may not be as significant to casual listeners as it is to industry insiders.

Lil Yachty also channeled his admiration for Drake’s response during the conflict.

“He really didn’t give a f**k. He was unfazed. I respect it a lot and I talked to him. That s**t didn’t bother him. I never saw him down ever. I never saw kicking his f**king foot [or] holding his head down. [It got] to a point where I just stopped talking to him about it because I felt like I was the one bringing him the negativity.”

Earlier this year on “A Safe Place,” Yachty described how public opinion has often painted Drake as the underdog in this feud.

Despite Kendrick’s strong reception, Yachty believes that in the grander scheme, Drake may prove to be the ultimate victor of this narrative.

As the rap rivalry continues to capture audience interest, Lil Yachty provides a fresh lens through which fans can view the situation.

His insights reveal a nuanced perspective on the way hip hop culture often intertwines talent, public perception, and the roles artists play in the larger conversation about competition.

With both artists still reigning supreme in the industry, the unfolding drama between Kendrick and Drake will undoubtedly keep fans talking, especially with supporting voices like Lil Yachty contributing to the discourse.
