The new documentary series, titled POLO, follows elite global players in the sport and was announced on Netflix’s social media today. This exciting venture is produced by the Duke and Duchess of Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍’s Archewell Productions.

The timing of the announcement is noteworthy, coming shortly after William and Kate posted an emotional three-minute video celebrating the end of the Princess’s chemotherapy journey. In her heartfelt message, Kate revealed that her focus is now on “staying cancer-free,” describing the past nine months as a “scary and unpredictable” time for her family.

Kate reflected on how this experience has reminded her and William to appreciate the simple yet vital aspects of life, emphasizing the importance of love and gratitude.

While the proximity of the Netflix announcement to Kate’s video has sparked curiosity, sources indicate that it was simply coincidental. A representative told MailOnline that Netflix is launching a “multi-title sports slate,” with POLO being one of several exciting projects in the pipeline.

It’s important to note that what was released is not a trailer, but rather first-look images along with an announcement of the premiere month and the official series title. Fans of the Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍es and sports enthusiasts alike have much to look forward to!

In an uplifting video message shared today, the Princess of Wales revealed she has finished her course of ‘preventative chemotherapy’

The princess’ personal message to the nation is accompanied by a stunning three-minute long video showing her and William in Norfolk with their three children

The Netflix announcement reads: ‘POLO is a new documentary series that follows elite global players and offers an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the fast-paced world of the sport.

‘From Archewell Productions and Boardwalk Pictures, premiering this December only on Netflix.’

William and Kate’s video was filmed in Norfolk and featured the couple’s three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis – as well as Kate’s parents.

In her message the princess says: ‘As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment. The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.

‘The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you. With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything.

Kensington Palace has not confirmed whether the princess – seen with William – expects to return to a full programme of duties next year

‘This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved. ‘

In her heartfelt reflection on the months ahead, Princess Catherine shared, “Doing what I can to stay cancer-free is now my focus. Although I have completed chemotherapy, my journey to healing and full recovery is ongoing, and I must take each day as it comes. I’m looking forward to returning to work and engaging in more public appearances in the coming months when I can.”

She emphasized her renewed sense of hope, saying, “Despite everything we’ve been through, I enter this new phase of recovery with a deep appreciation for life. William and I are incredibly grateful for the support we’ve received and have drawn immense strength from those helping us during this time. Everyone’s kindness, empathy, and compassion have truly humbled us.”

Catherine concluded with a powerful message for fellow cancer patients and their families: “To all those on their own cancer journey, I stand with you, side by side, hand in hand. From darkness can come light, so let that light shine bright.” Her words resonate with strength and solidarity, offering hope to many facing similar battles.
