The earnings of Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois from their Wembley showdown have been revealed

The earnings of Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois from their Wembley showdown have been revealed, according to a report.

London played host to the event on Saturday night, which saw Dubois upset to odds to knock out his fellow Brit in the fifth round to propel himself to the top of the heavyweight scene.

He could now face the likes of Tyson Fury or Oleksandr Usyk next, though a potential rematch with Joshua is also on the cards, it has been revealed.

Joshua, meanwhile, faces an uncertain future, but has vowed to continue fighting after calls came for him to retire at the age of 34 following the fourth defeat of his career.

The sum he is reported to have earned for the bout, however, could provide some comfort, with the figure reportedly set to rise to £25million.

Joshua reportedly picked up a guaranteed £6million for turning up, with paymet possibly rising to £25m

According to Sporty Salaries via GB News, Joshua was guaranteed to take home £6m purely for turning up.

Depending on pay-per-view sales, the figure is thought to have the potential to more than quadruple.

Dubois is thought to have picked up a guaranteed £3.5m with the potential for the sum to rise to £10m – though his pay cheques will almost certainly be bigger in the future after his statement win.

Joshua, meanwhile, broke his silence after defeat with a video on his Instagram account on Monday afternoon to reiterate that he would not be retiring.

‘We came up short but we have got to look at all the positives and that’s the mindset that we have to have – a positive one, always,’ he said in the social media video.

‘Look at what we’ve achieved in the space of 11 years and I want to thank every one of you that’s been riding with me.

‘What a rollercoaster journey. But you know what the problem is, is that it’s far from over yet.’

Dubois, meanwhile, is thought to have picked up £3.5m with the fee potentially rising to £10m

The reason why Joshua’s fee was bigger than Dubois’ is because of the attention on the fight he commanded, despite losing.

He now, however, faces a potentially long road to becoming a three-time world champion amid uncertainty over a rematch.

It has been claimed that the attendance was a record-breaking crowd for a British boxing fight, with Turki Alalshikh claiming there were ‘more than 98,128’ fans in attendance.
