WNBA rookie Angel Reese delights fans by announcing her new podcast.

The Chicago Sky star is vying for the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year trophy

WNBA rookie sensation Angel Reese is set to take on a new challenge off the court with the launch of her very own podcast, Unapologetically Angel.

Angel Reese teams up with Shaquille O’Neal in new podcast venture

The weekly show will be a part of Shaquille O’Neal’s“The Big Podcast Network,” under the umbrella of Playmaker HQ.

“It’s another way for me to connect with my fans and reach new audiences I wouldn’t necessarily have before,”Reese shared in an exclusive interview with Complex.

Her excitement for the podcast is palpable as she looks forward to revealing different facets of her personality and experiences that fans may not have seen before.

“I can’t wait to share a different side with listeners and have them come on this ride with me.”

Known for her bold opinions and unapologetic demeanor, Reese emphasized that her podcast will be a platform for “authentic and unfiltered conversations.”

Whether discussing basketball, fashion trends, or the latest entertainment news, the WNBA’s leading rebounder is ready to engage her audience with her unique perspective.

Reese’s podcast will also feature her co-host, Maya Reese (no relation), and the pair aim to bring a wide variety of guests from various industries.

“I really want to have guests across all different industries on the show-sports, music, entertainment, business, creators, and more,” Reese said, with a particular interest in bringing on major stars like Megan Thee Stallion, Latto, and Cardi B.

Reese focused on rookie WNBA season

Despite this new venture, Reese remains firmly committed to her career on the court.

Recently, she made history by becoming the first WNBA player to record 20 rebounds in three consecutive games.

However, her focus remains on team success rather than individual accolades.

“I’m not focused on my individual accolades,”Reese stated.

“I’m focused on our team and what we need to do collectively to win.”

With the Chicago Sky currently holding onto the 8th spot in the league, Reese’s contributions will be crucial as the team fights for a better playoff position in the remaining 11 games.

The recent Olympic break provided a much-needed reset for the 22-year-old, who had little time to recover after leading LSU to another Elite 8 appearance before starting her professional career.

“It has always been important for me to prioritize my mental health and protect my peace, so it was amazing to get some time away to reset,”Reese remarked.

Reflecting on her break, she added, “Going to Paris and getting to support Team USA was also an incredible experience! The atmosphere and the whole city were electric.”
