The Timeless actress got candid about her dramatic exit from the Amazon Prime series, feeling mixed emotions. On one hand, she felt sad about putting an end to a beloved character yet on another, she is satisfied with how her character contributed to a pivotal moment in the series’ storyline.

It is undeniable that Neuman was a complex character in the show, who at times, struggled with her ambitions and ethics. In discussing her character’s end, she told Variety,

“It was really shocking, but it was also really beautiful…It was a great death — that’s an honor in and of itself. I’m really happy to got a fun, twisted death, which is just such a great rite of passage for characters on this show. So I was really happy about it, which sounds like such an insane thing to say about being split in half.”

While filming her final scenes, she just felt “like another day at work,” she only realized about her exit when she went back to her trailer as she added that “there was no next scene” for her. That realization left her feeling, “And it was this beautiful, bittersweet moment.”

Because Butcher wasn’t sure that she had actually turned against him, he 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁ed her without hesitation, which added a graphic element to the show’s brutal demise. Not to add, the fact that Neuman was 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁ed in front of her kid made her scenario all the more tragic. Since Season 5 of the well-liked series will be its last, the show still has major events to unfold.
