After they seemed to attend a party together, Shawn Mendes discloses whether or not he is dating Sabrina Carpenter. In a recent interview on a Dutch TV show, the singer addressed the romance rumors that Shawn Mendes and Sabrina Carpenter had first ignited last month.
Shawn Mendes, 24, revealed that he is not dating Sabrina Carpenter, 23, in a new television interview. The singer addressed the romance rumors going around about him and the actress, during an appearance on the Dutch program, RTL Boulevard on March 17. He was on the show to promote his partnership with Tommy Hilfiger and wanted to make sure that’s what the discussion stayed focused on.
“We are not dating,” Shawn admitted, when asked about the romance speculation. “But I think we should talk about Tommy Hilfiger probably more than Sabrina. Thank you.”
Shawn recently denied dating Sabrina.
Following their initial sighting together at a dinner in February in Los Angeles, California, Shawn responded to the dating allegations. As they sat together, they seemed to be grinning and conversing, which made many others question whether something more than friendship was taking place. In early March, they were also seen together at a Gucci store in Beverly Hills, where Miley Cyrus celebrated the release of her most recent album, Endless Summer Vacation.
Nor did the excursions end there. On March 12, Shawn and Sabrina went to the Vanity Fair Oscar celebration. He wore an all-black suit and a green pendant necklace that matched the emerald birthstone of the Girl Meets World actress. The fact that he had been wearing the necklace since January—one month prior to him and Sabrina being spotted together—was another thing that fans noticed.

The “Stitches” singer has had his share of public romances, despite the fact that he and Sabrina are not together. Prior to starting a relationship with fellow singer Camila Cabello in 2019 that lasted until 2021, he supposedly had an affair with Hailey Bieber in 2017. Actor Joshua Bassett, whom Sabrina allegedly dated in 2020, is another celebrity with whom she has made news.
Joshua and singer Olivia Rodrigo, whom he reportedly dated initially, were involved in a claimed love triangle as a result of Sabrina and Joshua’s romance. Fans assumed that the breakup songs on Olivia’s 2021 debut album, Sour, were about Joshua and his new relationship with Sabrina. However, once his relationship with Sabrina ended, Joshua acknowledged in December 2021 that he was single. “I think I’m good on my own,” he told GQ, describing the positive aspects of the past few months.
