Angel Reese unrecognizable as WNBA star shows off drastic new look

WNBA star Angel Reese is enjoying her offseason following a standout rookie campaign, and she stunned at the CFDA Fashion Awards this week with a new look.

Angel Reese showed off a stunning new ash-blonde look at this year’s 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards following a standout WNBA rookie campaign.

Reese, 22, turned pro earlier this year, and she was selected seventh overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft by the Chicago Sky. On her way to a rookie WNBA All-Star selection, Reese broke several records with rebounding before having her season ended with a hand injury.

The 6-foot-3 basketball ace is still on the road to recovery, and she’ll return to action early next year in the inaugural 3 vs. 3 Unrivaled Women’s Basketball League, alongside longtime rival Caitlin Clark, who performed a U-Turn on competing in the offseason following a seven-figure offer plus other incentives.

However, before Reese steps back out onto the court, the Sky ace turned heads on the red carpet at the CFDA Awards 2024. Reese rocked a trendy new hair color, ash blonde, living up to her nickname, the “Bayou Barbie.”

The new hair expertly complimented her outfit, which was all-white. She opted for a strapless white gown with a split hem, as well as a white fur coat and strappy black heels. Reese also wore several eye-catching jewelry pieces to compliment the outfit.

Unrivaled is offering WNBA stars like Reese to earn several times their WNBA salary in just eight weeks of work. In Reese’s case, she’ll take home a six-figure salary, close to 300% more than her current yearly rookie deal.

Alongside her big-money endorsements and deals with brands such as Reebok, Reese isn’t short of money. But she made sure to highlight that the WNBA’s rookie salary doesn’t even cover her rent. Reese revealed she pays $8,000 monthly.

“I just hope y’all know: The WNBA don’t pay my bills at all. I don’t even think it pays one of my bills. Literally,” Reese revealed on an Instagram Live. “I’m living beyond my means,” Reese later joked

She won’t be using her home between Jan. and March, though, with Unrivaled being exclusively hosted in Miami, Florida, a location Reese is more than happy to stay. “Being able to be in Miami from January to March, not having to go overseas,” Reese said in August, via ESPN. “Nobody wants to go overseas.

“A lot of us never want to have to go overseas, but some people do have to go overseas unfortunately, so being able to make six figures within three months, being able to be housed in Miami, just being able to get better. … I’m excited for it.”
