Priyanka Chopra Jonas recently opened up about her “tumultuous relationship” with Bollywood during an appearance on Dax Shepard’s podcast. In this candid discussion, she reflected on a difficult period in her career that led her to move to the West. She revealed, “I was being pushed into a corner in the industry (Bollywood). I had people not casting me, I had beef with people. I am not good at playing that game, so I kind of was tired of the politics and I said I needed a break.”
Currently in Mumbai for a press conference for her series Citadel, Priyanka explained why she felt ready to discuss this challenging phase now. She stated, “When I was on a podcast, I was asked about the journey of my life… Now I was confident enough to talk about that phase of my life. I think I had a very tumultuous relationship with what occurred, but I forgave and moved on a long time ago.”
Priyanka also compared her experiences in Bollywood and Hollywood, noting that while the madness is similar, the cultural differences are significant. She humorously mentioned the “Indian Stretchable Time,” highlighting the more relaxed approach to scheduling in India compared to Hollywood’s structured environment.
Fans can look forward to seeing Priyanka alongside Richard Madden in Citadel, as she continues to navigate her career across different film industries.
