Serena Williams’ latest attempt to test the waters as an Instagram influencer was foiled slightly by her two-year-old daughter Olympia, who stole the show while joining in her mother’s newest beauty routine video.

Tennis pro Serena, 38, wowed her followers last month when she shared a detail look inside her nightly beauty routine, revealing an extensive regimen that featured more than $1,500 worth of products.

However, when it came to documenting her morning routine in the same way, Serena faced an unforeseen challenge – competing for screen time with her adorable daughter, who seemed intent on stealing the spotlight.

Here we go: Last month, Serena, 38, shared her evening routine with her 12 million Instagram followers, and she explained that she wanted to do the same with her morning regimen

In a clip posted to Instagram on Monday, Serena can be seen standing in front of her bathroom mirror wearing a personalized black Versace robe – while her daughter Olympia, whose father is Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian, is peeking up over the sink in front of her.

The toddler appears to be a little bit further along in her daily routine, and is dressed in what looks like a princess dress, and an adorable matching scrunchie; Serena meanwhile has her hair covered with a cap and is makeup free.

And despite the video being filmed first thing in the morning, Olympia is full of energy, kicking off the clip by chatting happily to the camera, and saying what sounds like ‘coffee’ over and over again.

‘You OK?’ Serena asks her daughter, while resting her hands on the little girl’s head.

‘So normally I do my night routine, I never do my day routine or my morning routine,’ the tennis star continues, while Olympia chatters away alongside her. ‘So I wanted to show you my morning routine, and Olympia wants to show you too.

‘It’s morning and I want to have a refreshed face, so I wake up and then I’m going to do the Knesko Diamond Radiance,’ she says while holding up a packet of $16 eye masks – the same brand that featured in her evening routine.

‘It goes under my eye,’ she continues, before Olympia interrupts her mother by holding up two Beautyblenders – one pink and one purple – and trying to explain that they are for her mother’s makeup.

‘Yes, and that’s for my makeup,’ Serena replies, before continuing on with her routine and the first eye mask step: ‘But this one goes under my eye. So I just washed my face with water, and now I am putting these under my eye.’

But just as she gets back into the groove of her routine, Serena is interrupted once again, this time by Olympia grabbing a bottle of Mario Badescu Facial Spray and cheekily spritzing it up into the air – just as her mother is trying to reach for her second eye mask.

‘Olympia,’ Serena then sighs at her daughter, before giving up on the video entirely and turning the camera off.

Whoops! Just as the tennis player starts to get her routine underway, Olympia picks up a bottle of Mario Badescu Facial Spray and spritzes it at the camera, bringing the video to a close
