‘People Bringing My Name Up’: Meek Mill Seems to Respond After 50 Cent Says He Once Wanted to Punch Meek

A lot of people are saying that Meek Mill responded to 50 Cent‘s recent interview on “The Breakfast Club.”

The “In Da Club” rapper was a guest on the New York radio show, where he talked about several topics, including his past quarrel with Mill.

The two traded several shots on social media in 2016, and in one of those messages the Philly rapper said that 50 is “miserable and don’t really have friends.” Mill also released a diss song aimed at 50 that year titled “Gave Em Hope.”

But the two patched things up in a face-to-face meeting sometime in 2016, which 50 talked about. He then brought up Mill’s infamous back-and-forth with Drake, which happened a few years ago.

“People who pick fights with people who don’t want to fight, those are punks,” 50 said.

“Meek Mill, when I ran into him finally, he said, ‘Yo, let me talk to you. I need to talk to you like a man.’ He pulled me on the side. I was looking at him and I wanted to punch him,” added the New York rapper. “The stuff that he said, I wanted to punch him and I didn’t. I just looked at him and I was like, ‘Yo, I didn’t understand why you felt like that.’”

From there, Drake’s name came up in the interview, and so did Mill’s decision not to answer the Canadian rapper’s 2015 diss songs “Charged Up” and “Back to Back” immediately.

“He’s a battle artist,” said 50 about Mill. “That’s where you come from, so when he says something to Drake and then doesn’t respond, and Drake says something back, I’m going, ‘What happened?’”

“He was coming into your den and then you didn’t say nothing back,” 50 went on. “I was waiting for you. … He felt like I was kicking him when he was down because how he felt about the momentum Drake had.”

50 also said that he respected Mill for approaching him to talk, and that’s why he chose not to get violent.

Mill responded one day afterward on Twitter, and he said people are talking about him because he’s working with folks like Jay-Z on criminal justice reform and they’re jealous.

Plus, earlier this month, the Philly rhymer got into a nasty Twitter spat with his ex Nicki Minaj, who accused him of kicking her during their relationship, which he seemed to deny.

“It’s not a coincidence all these people bringing my name up at once lol I been moving too right and certain people not feeling it because most of these guys can’t get in the room!” tweeted Mill. “I been outside for years in the field!!! Now I’m helping changing laws now and freeing people.”

Under Mill’s tweet, people said that he shouldn’t pay 50’s comments any mind and instead stay focused on his criminal justice work.

“Bro keep doing what you are doing and don’t worry about the people,” someone tweeted. “Now if they don’t talk about you it’s a problem so long as they are talking you are good!!”

“You turned a negative into a positive….Your doing great…Keep freeing our ppl…,” wrote someone else.

But on Instagram, others said that 50 was right to call out Mill.

“He ain’t lying though lol those that pick fights with ppl who don’t want to fight are punks 🤷‍♀️,” one person commented.

“I  get it fif, but I’d rather those words came out of someone else mouth,” wrote someone else. “Cuz you be picking up fights on IG lol.”
