It’s been two decades since Usher confessed it all.

The iconic R&B singer, 45, released his album Confessions 20 years ago on Saturday, and is marking the occasion by thanking his fans for their ongoing support.

Alongside a compilation of the music videos for some of the album’s iconic tracks, Usher wrote, “20 years ago today, we dropped the iconic ‘Confessions’ album, which is now 14x Platinum. Making it the highest RIAA certified album by a male soloist released this century. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.”

Continued Usher, who recently headlined the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show in February, “The love and support from my Day 1s has been nothing short of incredible. Thank you for rocking with me through every lyric, every beat, and every confession. Thank you to each and every important collaborator that was apart of this very special project that helped mold and shape my career as an artist. Without you, Confessions wouldn’t be the masterpiece it is.”

Usher concluded his post with a toast and a promise for the future: “Here’s to the memories, the vibes, and the timeless music that continues to move us. Let’s keep making history!!”

The singer will soon embark on his USHER: Past Present Future tour, kicking off in August. The tour will feature music from throughout his 30-year career, including hits from his first album, 1994’s Usher, and of course including tracks from 2004’s Confessions.

Usher spoke candidly about Confessions in his February PEOPLE cover story, revealing that there “is a great deal of truth in that album.”

As far as sharing his own truth through the music, Usher said that he was inspired by a conversation he had at the time with publicist Chris Chambers. “He motivated me to think about who I was and what people knew about me. And the result of that was Confessions,” he said. Prior to that conversation, “I had always felt like I would be judged as a result of being vulnerable. Black man, we deal with this.”
