Oprah Winfrey is on a red carpet hot streak.
To celebrate The Color Purple’s release, Winfrey (who originally played the role of Sofia in the 1985 production and is a producer of the 2023 movie musical) has maintained a show-stopping monochromatic wardrobe featuring plenty of, you guessed it, purple!
Ahead, see every one of her on-theme fashion moments — from her dazzling pastel pantsuit to the elegant gown she wore to the film’s world premiere.
Premiere Purple
To kick off the official launch of The Color Purple on December 6 in Los Angeles, the media giant wore a custom silk jersey dress by Dolce & Gabbana. The curve-hugging design features a square neckline, floor-length train and slit. She accented her look with crystal-embellished lace heels and a crystal box clutch.
Winfrey also kept the color palette the same with plum lipstick and smoky purple eyeshadow.
The 70-year-old superstar also opened up about her weight loss process, telling Entertainment Tonight recently: “It’s not one thing, it’s everything” when asked about her healthy lifestyle.
Ultra-violet Vision
At the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on Dec. 3, Winfrey shone bright in custom violet Dolce & Gabbana gown entirely embroidered in sequins. She also wore coordinating Manolo Blahnik heels.
The former talk show host piled on the bling with a ring from Effy Jewelry and a pair of statement, shoulder-grazing earrings from Hamilton Jewelers. She even matched her glam to her gown with her a plum lip.
Peeks of Purple
Winfrey may have worn a black Ralph Lauren sequine suit to the Elle Women in Hollywood awards ceremony on Dec. 5, but her lavender-hued handbag and heels (also by Ralph Lauren) garnered all the attention!
“If you don’t have purple to wear to [watch The Color Purple], you can always do purple accessories like I did,” Winfrey wrote of her outfit on Instagram.
Doubling Down on Lilac
Winfrey’s dedication to purple was also brought to life with this pastel lilac Dries Van Noten pantsuit and vibrant peep-toe heels.
The two-piece set, which Winfrey wore to Variety‘s Power of Women ceremony on Nov. 16, was the perfect counterpart to the ruched metallic gold Dolce & Gabbana bodycon worn by Fantasia Barrino, who is reprising her role as Celie, the character she originally played in the 2007 Broadway adaption, in the film.
Marvelous in Magenta
Winfrey, who attended the National Book Awards on Nov. 15, began incorporating purple into her red carpet wardrobe with this dark magenta dress, featuring a mid-calf hemline and fringed bell sleeves. She teamed the one-piece with plum-colored pumps, giving the entire ensemble a chic two-tone look.
