Promising news for Season 2 of The Boys Spin-Off Gen V.

The filming will start in a few weeks.

The second season of Gen V on Prime Video is set to begin production in a few weeks, which means our favorite adolescent superhero is about to start his sophomore year at Godolkin University.

Gen V season 2 writer Thomas Schnauz stated in an interview with Arc Studio that the second installment will begin production soon, saying, “They start shooting in not too long up in Canada, probably two or three weeks.”

Although he didn’t help write the first season, which premiered on Prime Video last September, Schnauz has joined the project on its second season. The writer is best known for writing the hit series Breaking Bad and its spin-off Better Call Saul, as well as the ‘90s sci-fi series The X-Files.

Based on Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s narrative arc “We Gotta Go Now” from The Boys comic book, Gen V presented us to a fresh batch of youthful Supes at Vought’s Godolkin University. The first season followed the youthful and naive superheroes Marie, Jordan, Emma, and friends as they adjusted to college life and learned about a dark secret concealed underneath the school’s hallways. The famous superhero program The Boys inspired the spin-off series, which even had appearances from the main cast.

Season 2’s official plotline is still unknown, but if it continues where the first season’s finale ended, we can expect to see the real good guys imprisoned in The Woods, the university’s underground testing lab, while the school struggles to contain the bloody mess created by renowned secret villains Cate and Sam.

So when can we exactly anticipate the release of season 2? Thus, assuming Schnauz’s timing is accurate, a second season may debut as early as the first half of 2025.

Season 4 of The Boys, the main series, will premiere this summer on streaming services. It looks like season 4 will continue where Gen V season 1 left off, so you won’t have to wait until next year for more Supe action. Victoria Neuman will undoubtedly return, at the absolute least. On June 13, 2024, The Boys season 4 will debut on Prime Video.
