“Fire in the booth!” Anthony Joshua, who has previously worked with Headie One and So Solid Crew, breaks into a freestyle rap during an interview with Louis Theroux.

On Tuesday afternoon, Anthony Joshua performed a freestyle rap during an interview with Louis Theroux.

The documentary filmmaker and the former two-time world heavyweight champion took a seat at the famous north London gym that had shaped his early career.

Theroux questioned Joshua about his love of music and his post-fight performance in 2019, so Joshua thought back on his career and demonstrated his freestyle rapping abilities.

Following his shocking loss to Andy Ruiz, Joshua celebrated his triumph by taking the stage with rapper Headie One at a JD Sports event.

Theroux inquired about AJ’s “bars” during their conversation as he knew he was accustomed to speaking in front of an audience. In response, Joshua described himself as a “freestyle” kind of man.

When Anthony Joshua spoke with Louis Theroux, he demonstrated his ability to rap freely.

After that, AJ started rapping and spit out the lines, “Me and Louis in the kitchen, having coffee and tea, you know that back in the day I’ll be whippin’, big pimpin’, Range Rover dippin’.”

Joshua went on, “I just put the clip in, and me and my ninjas never slipping,” adding, “Trigger finger you know it stays itchin’.”

After his 15-second chorus, the former two-time world heavyweight champion started laughing, but Theroux interrupted to carry on the rap.

‘Here I am with my man, AJ, I’m asking questions, getting all crazy, in a minute we’ll get in the ring, watch me ’cause I can sting.

‘I can throw a left, I can throw a right, put you down alright all night, you’ll be with your feet layin’ out, no doubt.’

The two-time unified champion took time out of his preparation to make a surprise appearance.

Anthony Joshua performs alongside So Solid Crew in packed nightclub

AJ’s performance wasn’t the first or last time we will see him with a microphone. He famously performed 21 Seconds alongside So Solid Crew at a packed out nightclub in 2020.

The British heavyweight, who as preparing for a fight with Kubrat Pulev at the time, was filmed at Garage Nation – and impressed the capacity crowd by rapping along to the former UK No 1.

Joshua took to the stage with Lisa Maffia, who is widely known as being the main female member of So Solid Crew, and put on a very different kind of show for the hundreds packed into the venue.

The venue responsible for hosting the event took to Twitter to rave about Joshua’s shock cameo, and described the performance as ‘one of the best moments in Garage Nation history’.
