Shockingly Mysterious: ‘The Boys’ Star Unveils Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Top-Secret Role.

In season four of The Boys, Jack Quaid talks about the mysterious character played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

Jack Quaid, star of The Boys, describes his enthusiasm about working on a movie with Jeffrey Dean Morgan for the third time. Quaid and Morgan previously appeared together in the 2023 independent film Nowhere Men and the 2021 feature Rampage.

Reports previously revealed that Jeffrey Dean Morgan would be joining the cast of Prime Video’s The Boys season 4 in a mysterious role. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Quaid described his and Morgan’s dynamic in Nowhere Man as a “70s-style two-hander” about two unlikely people bonding. Quaid mentioned that while both him and Morgan were cast in Rampage, they never shared a scene.

Jack Quaid stated, “It’s like a two-hander. It reminds me of a lot of movies from the ’70s about two unlikely people bonding and doing something together, Jeffrey Dean was someone they were thinking about, and I’m like, ‘I’ve worked with him technically twice’; we’re both in Rampage together from forever ago. I don’t think we ever saw each other on that set, but then he showed up on The Boys, and, god, he is just such a standup guy.”

Hughie’s Mom Is Introduced in The Boys Season 4

In season 4, viewers will also meet Hughie’s mom, played by Rosemarie DeWitt known for her guest role in And Just Like That season 2. Hughie’s mom left him and his dad when he was six and is a significant influence on Hughie’s character, contributing to his loyalty and fear of being alone. Details about her role and name are still under wraps.

Simon Pegg returns as Hughie’s dad, Hugh Campbell. Quaid highlighted working with Pegg and DeWitt as some of the most fulfilling work of his career, forming a “weird family” on set. Quaid also reunites with Susan Heyward, who he previously worked with on HBO’s Vinyl. He praised her performance as Sister Sage, whose intelligence adds a complex new element to the story.

The season 4 summary for The Boys reads, “Victoria Neuman is closer than ever to the Oval Office and under the muscly thumb of Homelander, who is consolidating his power.” Butcher, with just months to live, has lost both Becca’s son and his position as The Boys’ leader. The rest of the crew is fed up with his lies. With the stakes higher than ever, they must find a way to cooperate and save the world before it is too late.”

The fourth season of The Boys will begin on Prime Video with three episodes on June 13, followed by weekly releases.
