Prince Harry’s Gesture to Meghan Markle Highlighted by Fans

rince Harry and Meghan Markle have been praised online after fans online highlighted an intimate moment shared between the couple during a recent visit to Nigeria.

Harry and Meghan celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary on May 19 and since 2020 have made their home in California with their two children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.

Last month, the couple embarked on a three-day working visit to Nigeria at the invitation of the country’s chief of defense staff, primarily in relation to Harry’s role as founder and patron of the Invictus Games which Nigeria entered for the first time in 2023.

During their visit, the couple attended a number of Invictus related events, meeting with veterans and charities connected with the sports tournament. They also took part in wider philanthropic visits and official receptions held by local authorities to honor their visit.

Uploaded to TikTok by user meghmarkle, on May 18, footage shows the moment Harry took to the stage at the event, offering his wife a sweet gesture. Looking at his empty hand, he was seen taking Meghan’s and guiding it into his as he helped her climb a short flight of steps.

Meghan then paused and waited for her husband to join her on the platform.

The post, captioned “I need him,” has received in excess of 98,000 views and numerous comments, many of which have praised the couple and their public displays of affection for one another.

“Notice the way he reached for her, then she reached back for him. Love is a union,” wrote one TikTok user.

“We all need a harry,” posted another, with a further comment reading: “You can tell they are so caring with each other behind the scenes. It’s like even their bodies are in sync. Natural with each other.”

The couple’s Nigeria visit inspired a number of social media posts and videos, many of which centered around the couple’s affectionate moments and interactions with members of the local communities.

Though the trip was generally well received, it raised eyebrows in Britain for being closely aligned to the form and function of an official royal tour which, since they stepped down as working royals in 2020, Harry and Meghan no longer carry out on behalf of the U.K. government or monarch.

Despite this, future overseas travel is likely to be on the cards for the couple. In 2025, they have the upcoming Invictus Games which will be held in Whistler and Vancouver, Canada. Earlier this year, the duke and duchess spent a number of days in the area attending events marking the one-year waypoint to the games.
