Monét Tejada’s cousin, Janet, is sure to rock the foundation of this family’s ill-balanced dynamic.
STARZ isn’t holding back on the drama for the final season of Power Book II: Ghost.
As Michael Ealy’s Detective Carter entered the scene to shake things up for Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr.) and his former crew, Monét Tejada (Mary J. Blige) is seeking to make amends with her children—two of which are still harboring resentment, but her cousin Janet (Golden Brooks) is currently focused on Monét’s road to recovery.
In this exclusive preview from episode two of Ghost, the women are at odds when it comes to handling business. Monét—eager to get back to her regularly-scheduled program in the life—is seen pushing herself too hard when it comes to her physical therapy, as Janet urges her to “ease into it.”
“The Lord blessed you with two kidneys and you’ve already lost one,” she states, concerned.
Monét—visibly irritable— quips back, “I know what I gotta do, J. Damn, you was this annoying when we were kids?”
Janet wittily fired back, “Girl, please! You dressed like me, talked like me, damn near wanted to be me—’til you didn’t.” The women then shared a somber moment as Monét replied, “Well, our lives took a different direction […] I’m sorry about that.”
At the end of season three, the Queen Pin was kicked off her throne following the death of her oldest son, Zeke, while her other children (Dru and Diana) tried to take her out permanently—and failed. In the season four premiere, Monét was on the brink of death, but miraculously survived the attempt on her life. Janet returned to nurse her back to health and hopefully, knock some sense into her, as her children scurry to cover their tracks. With everyone out for revenge and some ready to get out of the game for good, the question remains: who will survive in the end?
Episode two of Power Book II: Ghost‘s final season premieres on Friday, June 14 at midnight ET on the STARZ app.
