Kate Middleton has hinted at a possible return to public life this weekend after it’s been confirmed that the escaped military horses will take centre stage at Trooping the Colour.
According to reports, the Princess of Wales may be “considering” a surprise appearance at the King’s annual birthday parade on Saturday, 15 June.
This comes after she apologised in a heartfelt letter for missing the final Trooping the Colour rehearsal, known as the Colonel’s Review, last weekend.
The Princess of Wales, who is the honorary Colonel of the Irish Guards, wrote: “Please pass my apologies to the whole Regiment, however, I do hope that I am able to represent you all once again very soon.”
Meanwhile, the army has confirmed that three of the five escaped military horses who ran through London earlier this year will participate in the event.
Tennyson will be ridden by Corporal of Horse Harvey to provide “extra confidence” for his role in the prestigious Sovereign’s Escort at the rear rank of the second division.
Trojan and Vanquish, meanwhile, will be a part of the ceremonial guard for the official entrance to the Royal Palaces, joining the King’s Life Guard at Horse Guards.
The other two escaped horses, Vida and Quaker, are continuing their recovery in the countryside, but they are also expected to return to work.

Kate Middleton absent from new King Charles appointments
The Princess of Wales was notably absent from King Charles’s recent Order of the Garter appointments ahead of the Trooping the Colour.
According to reports, there have been long-standing calls for the future queen to be made a member of the institution – the oldest and most senior British Order of Chivalry.
The most notable appointment was that of the former director general of MI5, Baroness Manningham-Buller, who became the first-ever female chancellor of the Order of the Garter.
Kate’s attendance at this year’s Trooping the Colour ceremony has yet to be confirmed, as well as her potential attendance at Monday’s Garter Day ceremony.
