Royal news – live: Meghan Markle branded ‘delusional’ in David Beckham book as ‘homesick’ Prince Harry eyes UK home

Meghan Markle has been branded “delusional” in an explosive new biography of the Beckhams amid claims that a “homesick” Prince Harry is looking for a new UK home.

According to Tom Bower, the Duchess of Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍 “put on airs” around Victoria Beckham as she believed her place within the royal family socially put her above the former Spice Girl.

“In Meghan’s celebrity world, ranking depended on wealth and fame,” Bower wrote in the soon-to-be-released House of Beckham.

“As a seasoned operator, Meghan deluded herself that her status in the Royal family placed her above Victoria in the social pecking order.

“She was irritated to discover that the Beckhams had considerably more wealth than herself.”

Meanwhile, Prince Harry is reportedly “homesick” and searching for a new residence in the UK.

The Duke of Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍 last visited the UK alone in May on a visit that saw him celebrate the 10th anniversary of his Invictus Games.

He reportedly stayed in a London hotel on the visit after he and Meghan Markle officially vacated their UK residence, Frogmore Cottage, last June.

Royal expert Kinsey Schofield told Fox News Digitial: “I hear that Harry is both content with his new lifestyle and homesick. It just depends on the day.”

The couple, who tied the knot in 1999, extended their good wishes to anyone else currently celebrating an anniversary.

“Wishing everyone who is celebrating their own anniversaries a special day too.”

The Princess of Wales made her long-awaited return to public life at last weekend’s Trooping the Colour and an expert believes it took its toll.

She stepped back from her duties in January to undergo planned abdominal surgery before revealing that she had been diagnosed with cancer.

In an update about her health last week, Kate admitted that she is “not out of the woods” yet and has good and bad days as she undergoes “preventative chemotherapy”.

Royal expert Katie Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight: “If you didn’t know that she was going through cancer treatment, you would never have guessed.

“I think a day like Saturday, where she knows the eyes of the world are on her, there is a huge amount of scrutiny that will take its toll.

“I think we can probably imagine that she probably had a long and well-deserved rest afterwards. I don’t think we can expect to see her in public for a little while,” Nicholl said, adding that it’s “going to take some recovery from.”

Nicholl added: “She was on her feet for a long period of time.”

“There was a moment where she was watching the parade… and was offered a seat, which she gratefully accepted.”

“That’s just a bit of an acknowledgement that she is not as strong, not as fit, as she was before she went into this treatment.”

Sarah Ferguson has finally addressed the long-standing rumours that she will remarry Prince Andrew.

The pair first tied the knot back in 1986 before divorcing a decade later, but despite the royals no longer being married, they have remained close.

They currently live together at the Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park, the Daily Mail reports.

Addressing the possibility of a second marriage, Fergie said: “I get asked that all the time [about whether they will remarry].”

“We’re happy with the way we are right now, thank you.”

At the time of the pair’s separation in 1992, they cited Andrew’s demanding naval career as the reason for their split.

13:00 , Emma Guinness

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have allegedly “reached out” to the Princess of Wales amid her ongoing cancer battle.

An insider has claimed that the pair want to let bygones be bygones and repair their seemingly frosty relationship with the royal family.

“All they can do is continue to reach out and offer olive branches,” a source told Closer magazine.

“Despite all their bad blood, [Meghan’s] heart does go out to Kate – she can only imagine how hard this situation must be for her.

“Meghan has made it clear she’d love nothing more than to move past all the nonsense and find a way towards healing for everyone’s sake. She’s ready to let the anger and bitterness go.”

11:05 , Emma Guinness

Meghan Markle has been branded “delusional” in a new biography of the Beckhams that claims she socially considered herself superior to Victoria.

Tom Bower wrote in House of Beckham that this did not stop the Duchess of Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍 from accepting the couple’s hospitality until she grew paranoid that they had allegedly leaked information about her to the press.

“In Meghan’s celebrity world, ranking depended on wealth and fame,” Bower wrote. “As a seasoned operator, Meghan deluded herself that her status in the Royal family placed her above Victoria in the social pecking order.

“She was irritated to discover that the Beckhams had considerably more wealth than herself. They owned five homes, had constant access to private jets, invitations to sail on yachts and much more money. And she was soon to be a duchess.”

The biographer added: “Only after The Sun reported how Victoria had given Meghan make-up advice did the relationship between the two ambitious women crash.

“Sensitive to the media’s probing into her unusual past, Meghan was outraged by The Sun’s report. This was the latest of a series of nasty revelations by London’s newspapers.

“Harry was ordered to complain to David Beckham.”

The States of Guernsey will get to enjoy a public holiday in honour of King Charles’s visit next month, it has been revealed.

The Monarch is set to visit the Bailiwick alongside Queen Camilla on 16 July.

This will be his first visit in over a decade, having last visited in 2012, back when he was still the Prince of Wales.

Economic Development bosses have said the holiday will mark “the historic significance” of the visit and the “importance of Guernsey’s constitutional relationship as a Crown dependency”.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s frosty relationship with the royal family could soon come to an end, an insider has claimed.

Citing the Duchess of Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍’s desire “to come across as the bigger person”, the insider has claimed that Markle has realised that it is time to let any persisting resentment go, especially in light of King Charles and Kate Middleton’s ongoing cancer battles.

The source told Closer magazine: “Meghan’s desperate to come across as the bigger person and end this feud between them – appearing like some sort of royal saviour could only do her image good.

“And, despite all their bad blood, her heart does go out to Kate – she can only imagine how hard this situation must be for her.

Conservative Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Labour leader Keir Starmer as expected to attend a Japanese state banquet ahead of next month’s election.

King Charles is hosting the event in honour of Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday next week.

It has been stressed that this is not a political visit in light of the upcoming General Election, which prevents the royal family from attending any events which could distract from the ongoing campaigns.

The Japanese Foreign Ministry official said: “In Japan, Their Majesties (the emperor and empress) are not engaged in the political or the economic spheres so we don’t have any plans to promote our economic relationship by this visit itself.

“This visit is actually to promote our friendly bilateral relations in culture, [and] science.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly planning a “world tour” after their recent, unofficial trip to Nigeria as private citizens.

An unidentified source claims that the Duke and Duchess of Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍 are likely to visit Ghana first.

They told the Mirror: “There is already a lot of talk and excitement in Ghana, everyone is so keen for Harry and Meghan to come and experience the great culture and warmth.”

They added: “Several top names have already visited Ghana in recent years from Ed Sheeran to Naomi Campbell and One Direction’s Liam Payne.”

TalkTV host Andre Walker claimed on That Was The Woke That Was that the pair have been encouraged by the success of their trip to Nigeria, which acknowledged the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.

“Harry and Meghan are planning a world tour this summer following on from the success of their trip to Nigeria,” he said.

06:00 , Emma Guinness

King Charles changed the order of the royal family on the Buckingham Palace balcony at this year’s Trooping the Colour for a poignant reason, it has been claimed.

The Monarch’s former butler Grant Harrold believes that the King broke with royal protocol to reflect the fact that he and the Princess of Wales are both battling cancer, the Express reports.

He noted that traditionally Kate and Prince William would stand closest together, but this was not the case at this year’s event, which marked the Princess’s first public appearance of 2024.

Instead, the Princess stood close to both her husband and the King in a move that was reportedly “orchestrated” by the Monarch.

A Scottish minister who comforted the royal family after the Queen’s death at Balmoral has been recognised for his work by King Charles in his birthday honours list.

Reverand Kenneth MacKenzie of the Parish of Braemar and Crathie in Aberdeenshire was made a Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order (LVO) for his services.

He said that he did what any of his colleagues would have done in the same situation.

“I am honoured to have been awarded this recognition directly by His Majesty the King,” he said.

“In making this presentation, he, and by extension other members of the royal family, has once again publicly acknowledged and expressed his gratitude for the prayerful pastoral support that has been offered to him and the family by the church and in particular by the Chapel Royal in Scotland down through the ages, and especially in recent years.

“These awards are only ever given to individuals, but in every case, the recipient has always represented a much wider body.

“At the time of the late Queen’s death in Balmoral, I was the chaplain most closely engaged with the royal family and was simply being and doing what any of my colleagues would be and do in any similar situation.”

02:00 , Emma Guinness

A royal expert has speculated about why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were not invited to this year’s Trooping the Colour.

The pair, who stepped down as working royals in 2020, did not attend the King’s official birthday parade in 2023 either.

Royal expert Tom Quinn told The Mirror that while the possibility of inviting the Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍es was considered, it was ultimately decided against because of ongoing tensions.

“There was a brief discussion among the senior royals about inviting Harry and Meghan to Trooping the Colour,” he said.

“But the idea was quickly dismissed, because even if the couple accepted the invitation there is a feeling that they cast a dark shadow over everything.”

Wednesday 19 June 2024 00:00 , Emma Guinness

Guests to Westminster Abbey in London will soon be able to get a taste of what life as a member of the royal family feels like.

This is because Queen Camila has become the patron of a new building project that will allow guests to enter the building through the Great West Door for the first time.

Construction work on the new King Charles III Sacristy entrance lobby, which will cost an estimated £13 million, is set to begin this year and conclude in 2026.

The Very Reverend Dr David Hoyle said: “This splendid building, which is both new and old, will transform the welcome our visitors receive and, more importantly, change the way they see Westminster Abbey.

“The full drama of this shrine and house of memory is best appreciated by approaching it from the Great West Doors.

“The transepts and aisles will emerge calmer and more graceful as we move chairs and ticketing booths out of the abbey.

“It is a building fit for a King and for an abbey whose faith and ministry is both old and new.”

Tuesday 18 June 2024 21:00 , Emma Guinness

Following the news that Prince Harry is allegedly hunting for a UK residence, a former royal butler has claimed that he and Meghan Markle will split their time between the UK and the USA.

The couple left the UK in 2020 for a new life in California, officially giving up their UK residence, Frogmore Cottage, last June.

Grant Harrold, a former butler to King Charles, told The New York Post: “If Harry does buy a place in the UK, he and Meghan will live here for part of the year and part of the year in the States, that was the original idea.

“I would assume that this would mean Meghan would also be coming to the UK and you’d see them spending so many months of the year here.”

News of Harry’s alleged plan to have a more permanent base in the UK comes after he reportedly stayed in a London hotel on his recent visit to celebrate the 10th anniversary of his Invictus Games.

Prince Harry is reportedly hunting for a residence in the UK because he is “homesick”.

The Duke of Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍 moved to California in 2020 after stepping down as a working royal and officially vacated his UK residence, Frogmore Cottage, last June.

Royal expert Kinsey Schofield told Fox News Digitial that the Prince was “likely permitted” to look for a new British residence by Meghan Markle.

“I hear that Harry is both content with his new lifestyle and homesick. It just depends on the day,” Schofield said.

“I’m sure Harry could get homesick, and we know that he is prone to wearing his heart on his sleeve. Meghan has likely permitted him to try to establish an additional residence in the UK if that will make him happy, but I doubt she has any desire to participate in the process or visit.”

Tuesday 18 June 2024 13:00 , Emma Guinness

Piers Morgan has been slammed for commenting on Kate Middleton’s appearance after she stepped out in public for the first time this year.

Describing her as “pretty thin”, the outspoken host, who also suggested that she and King Charles should reveal the type of cancer they are suffering from, was criticised by many online.

Reacting to the host’s controversial comments on YouTube, one viewer wrote: “[Piers] they do not have to tell you what type of cancer at all. They didn’t even have to tell you they have cancer. She has always been thin.

“The king already stated he had a prostate treatment which is very private. Average people don’t have the scrutiny that Catherine deals with.” [sic]

Tuesday 18 June 2024 12:30 , Emma Guinness

The Princess of Wales made her first public appearance of 2024 at the King’s official birthday parade on Saturday.

When announcing her intention to attend, Kate, who was last seen in public on Christmas Day last year, said that she hopes “to join a few public engagements over the summer.”

As the Princess is still receiving treatment for an undisclosed type of cancer, it appears that these will be decided on a case-by-case basis as she was not present at yesterday’s Order of the Garter service.

Explaining her current situation in a statement, she wrote: “I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days.

“On those bad days, you feel weak, tired, and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.”

Prince William shared a heartfelt Father’s Day post in celebration of King Charles and the absence of Prince Harry in the picture did not go unnoticed.

This comes amid tense relations between the Duke of Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍 and his immediate family, which are seemingly so strained that he saw none of them on his recent trip to the UK.

“Happy Father’s Day, Pa. W,” the Prince of Wales wrote on Twitter (X) alongside a picture of just himself and his father.

Reacting to Harry’s absence from the picture on Lorraine, royal expert Russell Myers said it could suggest that relations between the brothers are worse than ever.

Cancer charities praise Princess of Wales’s return to public life

Tuesday 18 June 2024 11:00 , Emma Guinness

Charities have praised the Princess of Wales for stepping back into the public eye amid her cancer battle.

Kate made her first public appearance of the year at the King’s official birthday on Saturday, announcing that she has made significant progress in her treatment on Friday but is “not out of the woods” yet.

She added in the poignant statement that she hopes “to join a few public engagements over the summer.”

A spokesperson for Macmillan Cancer Support said: “It [was] an absolute pleasure to see her Royal Highness, the Princess of Wales’ at Trooping the Colour today.

“As her Royal Highness said in her comments [on Friday], cancer treatment can come with both good days and bad days, and I’m sure her attending the event will inspire so many people around the world who are managing the challenging effects of cancer treatment.”

Chief executive of cancer support charity Maggie’s, Dame Laura Lee, similarly added: “By highlighting that there are good days and bad days, the Princess is helping to draw attention and normalise the reality of living with cancer.

“Our experts in our centres can help people navigate how to manage each day at a time and to live with the unexpected, just as the Princess is clearly doing – helping us all understand that cancer is not a straight line or a linear process.”

A source close to the royal family has said that the Princess of Wales personally chose to attend Trooping the Colour.

Kate, 42, made her long-awaited first appearance of 2024 at the event last weekend as she undergoes “preventative chemotherapy” for an undisclosed type of cancer.

“It was the princess’s decision and hers alone,” a family friend told Vanity Fair.

“Catherine discussed the idea with William and with the king after having the okay from her medical team. Thankfully, she has been feeling much better recently, and Trooping has been something of a goal for her to work towards.”

Kate announced her surprise appearance on Friday in a heartfelt message thanking the public for their well-wishes but admitting that she is not out of the woods yet.

New dog biscuits teased under Meghan Markle’s brand

Monday 17 June 2024 23:00 , Athena Stavrou

Meghan Markle appears to have ventured away from jam and towards pet food as her friends tease new dog biscuits sent by the duchess.

The new product is the second confectionary launched by the Duchess of Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍 under her lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard.

Fans spotted the new product as her friends took to social media to share their pictures of their dogs enjoying the treat on Saturday.

Polo player and good friend of Meghan and Prince Harry Nacho Figueras shared images of a new flavour of American Riviera Orchard jam to his Instagram story.

He later shared a picture of his dog next to a jar of bone-shaped treats adorning the same marketing as Meghan’s jam.

The label container displated the same typography and the two products shared the same beige coloured bow.

Founded in 1348 by Edward III, the Garter is awarded by the sovereign for outstanding public service and achievement.

Garter Day sees Ladies and Knights of the Order of the Garter – the country’s oldest and most senior Order of Chivalry – process down the hill from the Berkshire castle’s State Apartments to St George’s Chapel, dressed in white plumed hats and dark blue velvet robes, watched by crowds of onlookers.

The installation of new Companions of the Order took place during the service.

The King and Queen led the monarchy in celebrating the ancient Order of the Garter as the royal family’s summer season began in earnest.

Ladies and Knights of the Garter processed through the grounds of Windsor Castle for the annual service commemorating the country’s oldest and most senior order of chivalry.

Charles and Camilla followed tradition and were at the back of the procession, dressed in white plumed hats and dark blue velvet robes as were the other members of the order, including the Prince of Wales, Princess Royal and Duke of Edinburgh.

The King’s appearance comes just two days after the Trooping the Colour ceremony where he was joined by fellow cancer patient the Princess of Wales, who did not attend Garter Day.

Among the members of the Order taking part in the procession were former prime ministers Sir Tony Blair and Sir John Major, along with Baroness Amos.

The Duke of York, a member of the order, did not join the service.

Kate returned to public facing duties over the weekend as she joined the royal family for the Trooping of the Colour.

She appears to have not made a full return to normality yet as she did not join other senior royals at todays ceremony in Windsor.

The King, who is also undergoing cancer treatment, attended alongside the Queen, Duke of Edinburgh and the Princess Royal.

When will American Riviera Orchard be available to shop?

Monday 17 June 2024 13:30 , Athena Stavrou

Just hours before the King and the royal family – including Kate Middleton – stepped out for The Tropping of The Colour in London this weekend, Meghan Markle soft launched two more products from her long-awaited lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.

Weeks after the former royal gifted 50 jars of strawberry jam to influencers across the US, she has now sent close friends raspberry jam jars and dog biscuits, giving us a sneak peak of what’s to come.

Unfortunately, we don’t have any information at this stage for when the products will be available to shop. What we do know though is that a trademark application for American Riviera Orchard was filed on 2 February 2024, so we can expect it’ll be a number of weeks before we can shop Markle’s products.
