Blake recently revealed that she hopes her latest movie A Simple Favour will open the doors to more female-led films in Hollywood.

Speaking at the film’s London premiere, she said: ‘The film has done so well in the States which we’re really happy about, because everybody’s like “OMG we just need to make more films about women”.

‘It’s weird for me because some of my favourite films are about women – Whatever Happened To Baby Jane is one of my fave movies ever made, and it’s kind of similar in tone to this film.

‘So film-making used to be like that in the 40s, with Bette Davies and Joan Crawford, and then it kind of petered out and became like men chasing each other around.’

‘So much fun and my husband comes from a comedy background, so just being with him sharpens my comedy, unlike any crash course I can take.’
