Bombshell: ‘The Boys’ Star Demands Movie Finale After Season 5.

Laz Alonso, the star of The Boys, expresses his desire for a film to conclude the series following season 5.

Eric Kripke created the blockbuster Prime Video series, which began in 2019 and follows characters Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), Hughie (Jack Quaid), and Mother’s Milk (Alonso) as they strive to take down a band of corrupt superheroes. The program is currently in its fourth season, and Kripke indicated earlier this year that season five will conclude the plot.

During a recent interview with Josh Horowitz for the Happy Sad Confused podcast with several of his cast mates, Alonso revealed that he had pitched a Boys film to conclude the series.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t sound like Kripke has taken to the idea just yet. Check out Alonso’s comment about the possibility of a movie below:

“I’ve been unsuccessfully pitching that we end the show with a feature film to Eric [Kripke]. Like, make the last episode of season five a cliffhanger and announce the film that we’ve been filming since the beginning of the series, pretty much. But he [Kripke] always somehow gets out of that one.”

Does The Boys Need A Movie To End The Show?

The Prime Video Show Could Work On The Big Screen

In many respects, concluding The Boys with a movie would be the ideal meta way to wrap up the series. The Dawn of the Seven film and Vought’s entire entertainment business play important roles in the series, and The Boys’ conclusion with its own film may be a great way to further lampoon the superhero movie environment. Purely for the sake of spectacle, it could be just the exclamation point Prime Video needs to finish things off strong.

Having said that, The Boys has thrived as a television show, giving some big action set pieces with outstanding visual effects. The series definitely does not require a film to provide spectators with thrilling moments of effects-driven action, and the final episodes of The Boys season 5 will undoubtedly demonstrate this. Furthermore, Kripke has been upfront about wanting to terminate the program with season 5, implying that he already has a clear endpoint in mind.

The Boys season 4 reviews, like those of prior seasons, have been mostly positive, and the program appears to be ready for the big screen. Making a film for the big screen, on the other hand, may be prohibitively expensive due to the probable R rating and marketing costs. Making a movie exclusively for Prime Video, on the other hand, may not be a viable format adjustment if Kripke can simply release a 1.5-hour series finale.
