Stunning Revelation: Tyson Fury’s 2-Fight Farewell, Usyk Rematch Dropped for High-Stakes Joshua Duel!

However, a rematch has already been agreed upon under the terms of the initial contract, with a date and location being considered.

Tyson Fury has been told to turn down a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk in order to face Anthony Joshua before retiring.

The Gypsy King was defeated for the first time in 36 bouts after 12 thrilling rounds in Saudi Arabia.

Tyson Fury has been told to snub a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.

Anthony Joshua would be waiting in the wings.

A rematch has already been signed per the initial contract and looks to be eyed for October.

But another hellacious fight with Usyk would leave AJ sweating over whether Fury would have it in him to stick around for an overdue Battle of Britain bout.

So former European super-bantamweight champ Spencer Oliver urged Fury to forget about avenging his loss and instead focus on Joshua.

He said: “If I’m Tyson Fury, I’m not going into the rematch now.

“I’m fighting Anthony Joshua at Wembley Stadium first. There are two fights left in Fury.

“That’s the Oleksandr Usyk rematch and then the Joshua fight is always going to be a massive fight for the British public.

“Everyone has always wanted to see it. That’s a fight that still sells, hugely.

“If you’re looking at it from a business point of view, that’s probably a bigger fight.

“They’ve both been beaten by Usyk. The winner of Joshua versus Fury then boxes Oleksandr again.

“But Fury will want to right the wrongs. So I see him probably going into that rematch first to secure his legacy, but he has other options.”

Joshua, 34, is set to return in September at Wembley Stadium.

And he could get a shot at the IBF title if it becomes vacant for Filip Hrgovic, 31, and Daniel Dubois, 26, to contest for on June 1.

In the aftermath of Fury’s first loss, he refused to commit his future to a rematch with Usyk, 37.

But his promoter Frank Warren has since confirmed they do intend invoke the right for an immediate rerun.

And Oliver wants to see Fury, 35, switch up his tactics if a rematch is finalised.

He said: “Tyson approached the fight wrong.

“Now he has to approach it differently, he has to be the aggressor. Fury can definitely win the rematch. It was a very competitive fight.

“Usyk ran out the winner for me but Fury had his moments, big moments and he is a great fighter.

“He can turn it around but he will be a big underdog because Usyk now will have that added confidence.

“Usyk is great at working fighters out. His boxing IQ is insane and that’s going to be a big problem for Fury.

“Usyk will go down as an all-time great, definitely.”

Usyk and Fury are heading towards an October rematch.
