After a long ongoing feud, Israel Adesanya and Dricus du Plessis seemed to have settled their feud following their title clash at UFC 305.

Following the grudge match between Israel Adesanya and Dricus du Plessis, they seemed to have settled their beef against each other. However, the way they settled was somewhat funny as that gesture quickly made it to the buzz. The gesture referred to du Plessis’ controversial way of celebrating his victory with his coaches.

Israel Adesanya and Dricus du Plessis had a long ongoing beef for a year now. They made several harsh comments at each other, until their pre-fight press conference. However, in the fight, du Plessis got better on Adesanya, ultimately retaining his middleweight crown. Interestingly, following that, both the fighters seemed to have settled their grudges against each other. However, the way they did has caught everyone’s attention.

DDP has a history of kissing his coach as a gesture to celebrate his victory. Per du Plessis, it is a part of their culture and that’s how they were brought up. However, many believed that it was an abnormal thing to do in front of a live audience. Even UFC legend Daniel Cormier gave out hilarious reactions after seeing such a thing.

Adesanya tried to do the same thing as a gesture to congratulate du Plessis on his victory. However, Izzy didn’t do it directly, as DDP and his coach Morne Visser did. The middleweight champion seemingly appreciated Adesanya’s gesture and hugged each other. Moreover, later at the backstage, du Plessis also made a wholesome gesture to settle his beef with Izzy.

Both Dricus du Plessis and Israel Adesanya settled their beef immediately after the fight. To reciprocate Adesanya’s gesture, DDP gave his South African-themed jacket to the former middleweight champion. During the exchange, the two also hugged each other hinting at the end of their feud. The feud hit both fighters effectively, with Izzy even getting emotional at the pre-fight presser.

Although Izzy was prepared with several new weapons in his arsenal, he still couldn’t get the W. With a victory in this fight, Adesanya had a chance to write his name in UFC history by becoming the only second fighter to have three different title reigns in the same division. However, Dricus du Plessis had other plans for the former middleweight champion as he handed Adesanya his first submission loss in UFC.

However, now it remains to be seen what will be the next step for both African fighters. As for Adesanya, he did not mention any retirement plans and looks forward to coming back to the octagon soon. Whereas, on the other hand, Dricus du Plessis might have unlocked several fight opportunities for him in the promotion.
