Kim Kardashian is ‘proud’ of former inmate and singer David Jassy as she congratulates his success amid criminal justice reform push

Kim Kardashian dropped in on Instagram on Saturday to give a nod to formerly incarcerated singer David Jassy.

The 43-year-old billionaire reposted a video clip from the music artist, who performs under the stage name Dawda, via the app’s Stories feature.

The bombshell, who famously became a law student in recent years, wrote under the post: ‘David Jassy also spent 15 years inside San Quentin prison where I got to meet him and spend time with him learning about his music program and Ear Hustle podcast.’

She added that she is ‘proud he is home and making music,’ and in a second post she gushed that she loves his song Get Your Number as she congratulated him.

It comes as the mogul continues to dedicate herself to prison and criminal justice reform.

In June, the SKIMS founder took to social media to give fans an update on her law school journey.

Taking to her Instagram Story, she shared a photo of herself looking over her study material.

Kim revealed that she had been learning about hearsay exceptions — which she admitted is her ‘least favorite subject.’

‘I can’t deal w all these f****** hearsay exceptions!’ she wrote. ‘My least favorite subject in law school!’

The term refers to when an out-of-court statement is offered in court, which in most instances is inadmissible — unless an exception applies.

Kim began her law school journey in 2019, following in the footsteps of her father, the late Robert Kardashian.

The mother-of-four passed California’s 𝚋𝚊𝚋𝚢 bar exam in 2021 after three prior attempts. She plans to take the bar exam in 2025.

The Hulu star successfully campaigned for the release of Alice Marie Johnson, who was sentenced to life in prison for a first-time, nonviolent offense.

Johnson was released in June 2018 after serving 21 years behind bars.

More recently, Kim visited Vice President Kamala Harris at the White House in April to discuss criminal pardons.

It was her first trip to Capitol Hill during the Biden administration, after she initially worked with former President Donald Trump on criminal justice reform.

Biden went on to grant clemency to 16 people who were convicted of nonviolent drug crimes as part of ‘Second Chance Month.’
