Country singer Jason Aldean does not have a tour called “You Can’t Cancel America,” contrary to social media posts and stories about his tour surpassing the attendance of Taylor Swift’s Eras tour that originated from a satirical article.

Users shared, open new tab image, open new tab with different versions of the text: “Breaking News: Jason Aldean’s ‘You Can’t Cancel America’ Tour Breaks Taylor Swift’s Concert Attendance Record.”

Aldean has upcoming U.S. tours scheduled to kick off in April and May, but they are called “Rock the Country, open new tab” and “Highway Desperado, open new tab.” The former is a seven-stop tour of small-town America with Kid Rock, while the latter is a nod to his latest album. The “Desperado Highway, opens new tab” tour was set to take place in 2023 and was extended to new dates in 2024.

There is no record of the tour ever being called “You Can’t Cancel America,” although the tour name has been circulating online since at least August 5, 2023, in a post titled “sarcastically.”

Meanwhile, an article, opens new tab, from the website Esspots.com is the earliest example of a story claiming that Aldean’s “You Can’t Cancel America” tour had surpassed Swift’s audience.

However, the website does not share the actual news. It has a disclaimer, opens new tab, “Welcome to Esspots.com, a site dedicated to satire, parody, and humor. Before you continue reading our content, we want to emphasize that nothing on this website is real.”
