And in a rare insight into her strong maternal instincts, Blake Lively described her urgency to ‘do anything to protect’ her children as she spoke at Variety’s Power Of Women event in New York on Friday.

The actress, 29, told the star-studded audience: ‘I would do anything to protect them. I would literally die for them without a moment’s thought.’

She addressed the mothers in the room and said: ‘I mean if you think of what you would do for your child, I don’t think there’s anything you wouldn’t ask yourself.’

The former Gossip Girl star was giving an emotional speech about the dangers of child pornography at the event.

Blake is determined to help eliminate the crime and has partnered with the Child Rescue Coalition, an organisation which uses technology to track down people who share or download explicit images of children.

The Town star showed off her statuesque figure at the event in a luxurious deep green one-shouldered catsuit.

The plunging neckline showed off the Californian actress’s sun-kissed decolletage and sculpted shoulders.

Her golden mane cascaded down her shoulders in beachy waves and she showed off her natural beauty with a slick of pink lip gloss and a flick of mascara.

Blake met her husband Ryan when they starred together in Green Lantern in 2010. The couple married in an intimate ceremony in South Carolina in September 2012.

Ryan recently declared his delight at receiving praise from none other than Dame Helen Mirren.

Helen congratulated Ryan on making Time’s 100 Most Influential People list and singled out the star’s name for praise.

‘Can the name be real?’ Helen wrote in the magazine. ‘It is such a perfect movie-star name, like something that could be on a 40s marquee.

He continued his thanks on Instagram, telling the star: ‘I thank you from the heart of my bottom for the kindest words ever. They will be sung by a children’s choir at my extravagant funeral.’
