Erin Moriarty’s Starlight has had a complex relationship with every member of the Seven in The Boys. However, she has the biggest resentment for The Deep as he was the one who humiliated her when she first joined the Seven in season 1. The two have had a conflicting relationship since then and fans got to see them go for each other’s throats in season 4.

In a recent interview with Comicbook.com, the actress stated that it makes sense for The Deep to die at the hands of Starlight, and that it will serve as cathartic payback for what The Deep did to her. However, the Deep should be the one to provoke her into a battle, as she cannot merely 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁 someone at random. Moriarty said:

“But she’s got to at least get The Deep, let me 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁 the fish guy at least, bare minimum for God’s sake…But it needs to be under circumstances where she’s provoked at first because that’s her. She can’t just go and 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁 someone. They need to attack her and it’s self-defense because she’s Annie.”

Season 4 ended with Annie escaping the captivity of various members of The Boys and America under Homelander’s reign. It remains to be seen whether the character will receive the poetic justice she deserves in season 5.
