The Boyz star Antony Starr said lately that he worked on the show with his famous crush.

In an interview with Seth Meyers on Late Night, Starr talked about his role in the show and revealed that he had a childhood crush on Elisabeth Shue, his co-star.

Shue played the no-nonsense boss of Vought, the corporation that manufactures and controls superheroes.

Starr, a self-proclaimed karate enthusiast in his youth, admitted that Shue’s role as Ali Mills in the iconic film The Karate Kid sparked his first on-screen crush.

Starr said, “When I was little, and she was actually not that much older than me, but slightly, I was a big fan of The Karate Kid.”

He further added, “I used to do karate when I was a little kid, and my dad took me to see The Karate Kid at the movies.  And Ali, aka Elisabeth Shue, was probably my first on-screen crush.”

Years later, the roles reversed dramatically when Shue was cast as Homelander’s boss. Starr humorously recalled his initial reaction: “I’m going to work with Elisabeth Shue.”

“Oh my God, what am I going to do? What am I going to wear?”

Despite his initial fanboy nerves, Starr went on to commend Shue’s professionalism and demeanour on set.

He concluded, “And [it] turns out she is the nicest person.”

The Boys series is set to conclude after season 5 as recently confirmed by Eric Kripke.

The show’s fourth season features returning stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit, and Cameron Crovetti.

New additions to the cast include Susan Heyward, Valorie Curry, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
