“When you know, you know,” said Ciara of her relationship with Wilson, whom she married in 2016 after meeting the previous year

It was love at first sight for Ciara and husband Russell Wilson.

During an appearance on the Oct. 8 episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, Ciara recalled her first date with the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback — and how she immediately knew he was the one.

“When you know, you know,” said the “Goodies” singer, 38. “From day one, we sat down, we talked. It’s so funny, ‘cause we always laugh about the first time we met. We were talking too long and having such a good time and in such great conversation, we forgot to eat.”

Upon leaving the restaurant, presumably still hungry, Ciara explained they’ve since shared their post-first-date stories with one another: “He told his friend in the elevator going down, ‘She’s the one.'”

Luckily, they both felt the same way. “I called my best friend, Yolie, who’s my matron of honor, my makeup artist for legitimately 24 years — my best friend,” she continued. “I said, ‘Yolie, I don’t want to jinx anything, but I think…’ And she goes, ‘He’s the one?’ And I go, ‘Yes.’”

Ciara was previously engaged to rapper Future, with whom she shares son Future Zahir, born in 2014. Shortly after her first date with Wilson, 35, she introduced him to her first-born son as well as her father, Carlton Harris, on the same day.

At that point, she further realized the NFL star was the one. “We were all in the house together. My dad was in the living room, Future was crawling on the floor, and there was a silver chair in the kitchen, and it was about to fall,” said the Grammy winner.

“[Wilson] legit slid across that kitchen, so smooth, and caught that chair, and I was like, ‘Oh, OK,'” recalled Ciara with a giggle. “I mean, it was pretty 𝓈ℯ𝓍y, but it was pretty cute.”

The couple tied the knot on July 6, 2016, and they’ve since welcomed three children: daughters Amora Princess and Sienna Princess as well as son Win Harrison.

“He always has been, since day one, one to jump in and be about that life,” said Ciara of Wilson. “He goes to the teacher-parent conferences. He’s into every detail. He’s making sure the sports and gymnastics and everything is lined up.”
