Following Liam Payne’s untimely death in Buenos Aires on Wednesday at the age of 31, Camila Cabello posted a heartfelt remembrance on her Instagram stories on Thursday.

According to reports, the former member of One Direction fell into the CasaSur Palmero Hotel courtyard after 5 p.m. from a third-story balcony (ART).

Following the untimely death of Liam Payne, who was spotted in Paris earlier this month, at the age of 31, in Buenos Aires on Wednesday, 27-year-old Camila Cabello paid a heartfelt homage to her Instagram stories on Thursday.

According to preliminary autopsy results, Payne had many injuries from the fall that resulted in “internal and external hemorrhaging.”

The late singer also suffered a fractured skull, according to Alberto Crescenti, director of emergency response service SAME.

“Thank you Liam for all the joy you brought my friends and I,” tweeted 27-year-old Cabello, who competed on The X Factor in a similar manner to Payne.

‘It really made an impression on me as a young girl to meet a member of a group i loved and have him be so kind. it’s a tragedy to have him gone way too soon..’

Camila had crossed paths with the For You singer on numerous occasions in the past, such as in 2017 at KISS FM’s Jingle Ball concert in Dallas, Texas.

The pair could be seen flashing cheerful smiles towards the camera as they paused for a memorable photo together during the event.

The following year, Cabello and Payne were spotted sitting near each other while attending the MTV Video Music Awards in NYC.

Also that same year, Capital FM — a UK radio station — released a ‘collaboration’ between Liam and Camila as they performed their version of Eminem’s track, Lose Yourself.

In 2008, Liam kickstarted his music career after auditioning on The X Factor when he was just 14-years-old.

He was cut from the competition series but returned in 2010, and joined Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson to form the boy band, One Direction.

The group won third place on The X Factor and went on to become a global sensation, with hits such as What Makes You Beautiful and Live While We’re Young. In 2016, One Direction went on an infinite hiatus.

In 2012, Camila tried out for The X Factor and later joined Fifth Harmony, which included Lauren Jauregui, Normani, Dinah Jane, and Ally Brooke.Cabello departed the group in 2016, and two years later, Fifth Harmony took an indefinite break.

Other condolences poured in after the shocking news of his death broke, and admirers flocked to the hotel to grieve the loss.

Harry Styles’ mother Anne Twist posted a broken-hearted emoji on Instagram, captioning it, ‘Just a boy.’ Paris Hilton typed, ‘So upsetting to hear the news of Liam Payne passing. Sending love and condolences to his family and loves ones. RIP my friend.’

Singer Charlie Puth has shared a series of photos and videos to his Instagram as he paid tribute to the late One Direction star.

The Light Switch hitmaker posted a sweet photograph of the pair, each pointing to the other and with their arms around one another.

He wrote to his followers: ‘I am in shock right now. Liam was always so kind to me. He was one of the first major artists I got to work with. I can not believe he is gone.’

Harry Styles also paid tribute to Payne, writing, ‘I am truly devastated by Liam’s passing. His greatest joy was making other people happy, and it was an honour to be alongside him as he did it.’

In conclusion, Louis wrote, ‘I wish I got chance to say goodbye and tell you one more time how much I loved you. Payno, my boy, one of my best friends, my brother, I love you mate. Sleep well X.’

After news of Liam’s death came to light, images of his trashed hotel room were revealed, which included white powder, tin foil as well as his medication such as clonazepam.

A lighter was also inside, as well as a smashed television and a half-filled Champagne glass.

More candle and aluminum foil remains were found in the bathtub of Payne’s suite, the bottom of which was stained and had some burns.

In a tape of the 911 call from the hotel manager to police, he could be heard saying: ‘I’m calling from the Casa Sur hotel in Palermo, we have a guest who is over the top with drugs and is breaking up the entire room. We need someone to come.’

The call then cuts off and on a second call, the manager adds, ‘when he is conscious he is breaking up the room. We need you to send someone, please.’

The emergency operator then asked the manager: ‘Under the influence of alcohol and narcotics?’

The manager’s response made his fears all too plain: ‘We need someone to be sent to us urgently, because I don’t know if the guest’s life is at risk. The room has a balcony and we are afraid that they might do something.’

Seconds later, it appeared it was too late to prevent the tragedy as the manager said with emotion in his voice: ‘Send only SAME, only SAME. [the city’s emergency paramedic service].’

Payne had arrived in South America with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy on September 30, staying in Argentina for two weeks after only planning to spend ‘five days’ there.

During their extended trip, Payne was reunited with Niall Horan after going to watch his former bandmate perform at the Movistar Arena, Buenos Aires, on October 2.

Horan was seen for the first time since Liam’s death in London on Thursday, and looked crestfallen while on a walk.

On October 12, Cassidy returned home to Florida after saying ‘I just need to go home’ in a TikTok video, with Payne staying behind and checking into the CasaSur hotel alone.

Just 48 hours before his death, on October 14, it emerged that Payne’s ex-fiancée, Maya Henry, had started legal proceedings against Payne, accusing him of obsessively contact and ‘weaponizing’ his fans against her.

Two days later, Payne posted several social media videos, including one where he jokingly called his girlfriend a ‘loser’ for going home.

Hours later, police were called to the hotel following reports of an ‘aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.’

The new photo broadcast on local network America TV appears to show Payne wearing a white sleeveless top with his tattoos visible. A presenter said it was the last time the former One Direction singer was seen alive before he got in a lift to his room.

Liam’s family have said they are ‘heartbroken’ by his death, adding that the former One Direction star will ‘forever live in our hearts.’

A family statement said: ‘We are heartbroken. Liam will forever live in our hearts and we’ll remember him for his kind, funny and brave soul. We are supporting each other the best we can as a family and ask for privacy and space at this awful time.’

Payne’s uncle Roger Harris also told MailOnline this afternoon: ‘We are all just deeply saddened and trying to come to terms with it. I just hope everybody gives them some privacy really and allows them to come to terms with it. That’s all I can say.’

The singer – who had been posing with fans in Buenos Aires in the hours before his death – suffered a fractured skull after falling from the third floor of Casa Sur Palmero Hotel in Argentina’s capital shortly after 5pm local time (9pm UK time) yesterday.

Another relative speaking at Payne’s family home in Wolverhampton – the city where he was born and grew up – told MailOnline: ‘We are utterly devastated by the news.’

After his death, TMZ received backlash after publishing photos of Payne’s dead body – and soon took down the images. 

It was also revealed that only days before his death, Liam had been dropped by record label Universal Music.

A source confirmed to that Payne had been let go from the label and stated, ‘Liam’s advance was massive and he didn’t recoup [it].’

‘Out of all of the One Direction boys, Liam was on the wrong path musically.’

Another insider said, ‘It is like all of Liam’s music career that he had built up since he went solo eight years ago was crumbling, there was very little left for him. It must have absolutely devastated him.’
